Me, Texas ( I suspect they will keep the Red River shootout when they go to the SEC, which guarantees 1 loss for one of them every year) Iowa (don't need an angry Hawkeye next week) and Slippery Rock.

I do like how this 6 game schedule broke out with 3 2 week gaps between home games. Talking with a Michigan buddy, at one point they had a five game home stand, ugh.

My ideal timing would be

one 7:00 game (would take a Thursday one now and again)
two 3:30 games
three nooners.

Red River Rivalry should be renamed "No Defense Allowed Rivalry". It'll be interesting to see how they adjust to Georgia and Alabama defenses...

That's the Big XII becoming a reincarnation of the old days of the original WAC. A highly entertaining game marred with some errors - don't know what Riley was thinking with the clock management at the end of the game, but it ended up working out. Oklahoma has some good personnel up front, but the secondary......wow.

Texas has big problems in the trenches but have some big-time skill players.

More Maalox needed in Austin.

I think Texas was crazy to hire Sakisian. But they seem to be making a lot of questionable hires...

Crazy expectations with some of the boosters and a couple of loose cannons on the Board of Regents.....that's all I will say. Some wanted to make a play for Meyer.....the last go around, some were convinced Saban was in town to sign. The only long-term consistency IMO has been Darrell Royal and Mack Brown. Fred Akers was close, but too many of his teams failed at the end of seasons for some's liking, and he left. That's still going back 30+ years.

When DeLoss Dodds retired as athletic director - that didn't help either.

They need stability and someone who can handle the boosters and other alumni groups and work with the athletic department/administration. I think Sarkisian is an improvement from Tom Herman, but I'm not sure if he'll be the long-term answer. They really need to pull a successful coach as an up and comer - like Brian Kelly was or a Luke Fickell....someone like that. JMHO.

In short - yes - they've messed this up a few times, but they are one of a handful of schools that have the resources to be able to overcome such big mistakes.
