Who signs with Purdue this fall?

Fans have to start realizing it’s not the schools who are paying the big nil contract offers. Those offers are coming from boosters and private companies. Miami didn’t give pack all that money, a booster did. The guy who paid pack all that money will find somebody new. And players can make their own nil deals. They don’t need to work those deals through the school or even require the school’s permission.

Purdue’s biggest problem is that their wealthiest donors are more interested in donating their money to academics rather than athletics. And are more interested in donating to cancer research and st Jude’s hospital than to giving to one and done athletes!

Places like Texas A&M are always going to have huge nil donors. Because their ethics and values are different than Purdue donors! My donations go to elementary schools, not athletes. The Armstrong Foundation donates very little to athletes! The same is true with Ely Lilly.

While not a popular opinion on this forum, I think it’s awesome these foundations choose to support cancer research and education And youth programs over giving money to athletes. I say let the pro teams fund college athletes! If you got that kind of money to give to LeBron and mahomes, let them pay the college stars!

Wow tend to agree. I’d rather support a helpful non profit via donation than some 18 year old kid to play basketball - even though he’s getting a free education.

He’s from jeffersonville across the river from Louisville. That’s only about 10 miles away from Sellersberg which is the home of TKR so proximity is close but it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s going to choose U of L.

Brian Neubert's article this morning said that Lousville is out of the mix now for Tre Singleton. I think it sounds like Purdue's main competition for Singleton now is Northwestern, who has recruited him the longest. Tre also said being able to play as a freshman is something that's really important for him, and the path at Northwestern would be easier to do that than Purdue. There is very little credibility to the following so take it for what you will, but I heard his Dad want's him to go to Northwestern.

Knowing Painter, he won’t argue that the path to playing time at Northwestern is easier. That said, the Purdue roster doesn’t have an abundance of players who are locked into the four position. They are generally either 3-4s like Heide or 4-5s like TKR. Catchings was probably the closest thing to a pure 4 and he de-committed.

I think I agree with most of what you're saying, but there is a fundamental difference in philosophy between the Miami approach with Pack and the approach that Painter and team are taking. At least to this point, Matt Painter will not make a 'strong ass offer' to a recruit, beyond the standard NIL payment that everyone else on the team receives.

Yes, agree. Heide is a jumbo 3, Burgess is a 4/5. There isn't a true stretch 4 on the roster and hasn't been since Vince (Gillis was great but was a completely different mold).
