Crean...Painter just got another extension, and the expectations for the job are entirely different at one place relative to the other.
Even though Purdue is a rival, I'm sick of Matt Painter and obviously Tom Crean. Indiana teams don't sniff the final 4. Except for Butler when they had Stevens. All of the elite Indiana recruits have been going out of state with exception of Biggie and Blackmon(who isn't that great anyways.) I don't get why IU or PU just continue to allow these guys to keep their jobs. Knight and Keady in their prime, would wipe the floor with these guys.
Look: I'm no painter Pom-pom waver, but he's not going anywhere, anytime soon. (And neither is versyp, for the same reason)
All available resources are going to football until that gets fixed. And that's going to take a while.
I don't think the reasoning is the same. One is doing a better job than the other.
Right but my point is that there is no more buyout money, anytime soon, for anything.
And frankly I don't follow the WBB program enough to even debate you on how well CSV is doing!
You are no doubt right, but, resources devoted to football or not (and they need to be given that they had not been under the previous AD)...no way should Versyp ever have been extended, and, she should still be fired...allowing her to remain just makes Purdue and the athletic department (and AD) look like they don't pay attention or care (which was precisely the problem with his predecessor (the one who gave the unwarranted and unnecessary extension).
Neither. Glass isn't going to fire Crean....he's proven that. And Painter isn't going anywhere because he isn't and doesn't need to go anywhere. It's one loss to a damned good Gopher team. S*IT happens and it's going to happen in this league all year. It always does.
Actually we're happy with the direction of an above-average coach (aka Painter, which is supported by fact not your hyperbole) and the direction the program is going in, which is up even with the loss.
Yeah the fact the BOT let Morgue do that on his way out the door is still a bit of a sore spot.
