Well looks like we’re going to be playing FDU as I can’t see TexasSouthern coming back from half time.
played them in the 1988 ncaa tourney
we were a #1 seed
lost to #4 kansas state in the sweet 16.
and if i remember correctly,
we beat the snot out of ksu in mackey in december.
keady told the team to ignore that win.
this was a different ksu team.
they would be “playing themselves in a mirror”.

and i seem to remember the media
saying something like
‘purdue plays fairly ridiculous‘
No love on the post game. Talking about FDU being the next St Pete’s and the FDU coach said the more he sees Purdue the more he thinks he can beat ‘em.
Tru TV talking heads.....Jay Wright, Seth Davis, etc talking about how good and physical and athletic FDU is. Talking about the senior guards vs our freshman. I hate the media. They still favor the Boilers but say it won't be an easy out. I say we win by double digits.

If we don’t win by 30+, we haven’t just played 8 on 5, they brought in a couple more refs and made it 10 on 5. It is a complete mismatch.
F all of them. I expected a little more from Jay Wright but maybe he’s still a little sore from the ass whipping that Carsen gave his team.
Let's also not forget that SoTex was 14-20 going into this game and 11-17 prior to their conference tourney. Not exactly top tier competition.
Looking at FDU's schedule for this year, not super impressive. Their SOS according to one source was 362.
So, sure they're the next cinderella.

Call me crazy, but seeing how their 5 can hit from outside, I think we go 3-2 zone just to practice it and show another look for future opponents! Let's do it, CMP!!

-22.5 seems crazy, I like Purdue in 12-15 point range, this seems like too many.
Why? FDU was 300+ in KenPom prior to the TX So game, now 299. This would be a 32 or 33 point spread if it was a buy game at the beginning of the year. They LOST to Merrimack (KP#313) in their conference title game but got the bid via a dumb rule since Merrimack hasn't been in D1 long enough.
FDU is the worst NCAAT team this year by a wiiiide margin. Purdue will roll, but Painter usually calls off the dogs in these games so while Bama or Houston would win by 50, we win by 25 or so.
Look for pretty limited minutes for Edey, about 25 or so and probably a lot of Jenkins since FDU is so short and his play of late has probably earned it.
