Who dat ? Who dat ?

Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints ! Drew was a surgeon with the football today. On to the Vikings..Who dat ?!
A joy to watch. Panthers shut down the run, Drew had to return to his old form throwing the ball down the field. Amazing to watch how he anticipates the receiver and releases the ball with such touch.

Saints went conservative at the end. Should have passed more.
Moore gave Purdue great exposure and brees is doing the same thing.

The Vikes defense is tough, but they played almost two whole games against Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers injured and out,the Bears twice and Minnesota also played Cleveland .Cincinnati and Baltimore, not exactly powerhouse teams.Brees and the Saints will be ready, and Minnesota doesn't present the challenge on offense that Carolina does..

The Vikings beat the saints the first time they played...hopefully this time it ends differently.

The nfc is wide open. Saints could even potentially host the nfc championship if Atlanta beats philly.

Good chance this is the best/most dramatic game of the Divisional Round. The Vikings are rightfully favored, but the Saints present some issues, and like many playoff games, there's a decent chance that a turnover or special teams play decides this. The regular season meeting was opening weekend before the Saints really got going, so it's hard to read too much from that game.

The one thing I didn't like from the Saints is the quick TD they gave up to Carolina after taking a two-possession lead with just over 5 minutes left. Funchess had a decent shot at catching the game-winner on the last drive.

Having Drew Brees, though, gives NO a good shot......should be a great game....maybe the Saints can keep marching......the NFC is still wide open, and I would not be really surprised with any combination for the NFC title game.....even the Saints potentially hosting the Falcons.

Despite the schedule, Minnesota is really good. They've had some impressive wins.

As a Falcons fan, I'd like to correct that to say *when* Atlanta beats Philly. No matter what, a Falcons-Saints NFC championship would be epic.

hopefully you are right, it's hard to handle the philly fans and their bragging this year. I live an hour N of philly and never seen so many people wearing their stuff.

I don't know about that, they got a TD instead of settling for a FG to get to 31 pts. After that the D fell asleep letting them get score in 1 min. after Cam did his acting job. And going for it at mid field on 4th and 2 was crazy.

I go back and fourth on Payton choosing to go for it there. With Cam Newton's ability to scramble and throw deep, making the first down ends the game, and there was enough time still if they had punted....I don't think he thought field position mattered as much....certainly a risk most coaches wouldn't take. What really hurt them was the quick score before as you noted and the 2nd down play.

Now, I didn't like the actual play that was called as much.....I would have loved a naked boot-leg......that would have really been ballsy. Ironically, the Carolina defender gave back sixteen yards with an interception rather than knocking it away.

Then, the deep out to the sideline from Cam Newton was a sick throw/catch, even if a tad late as Aikman suggested. At that point, I thought Carolina was going to pull it out.

I thought they were going to pull it out too.. Just like last week when the Saints gave up a last minute TD to the Bucs.

Another SB ring will really put the icing on the cake for Brees' career.

Although I would like to see Brees win another SB ring, I'm outnumbered in my household as my boys are hoping Ricardo Allen and the Falcons get one.

They definitely had their best shot last year; however, they are in a pretty good spot flying under-the-radar a little but will have to win two tough games on the road. I wouldn't bet on them, but I give them a better than usual chance because of the Eagles QB situation and the possibility to get a divisional opponent in the conference championship game.

I don't think they are as potent and playing as well as at the end of last season.....but this team was more like 12-4.....just basically tossed away the home games (with leads) to Buffalo and Miami.

I have watched the Saints all year. I always have the greatest confidence in Drew in the late stages, but their defense not so much. I have seen that 1 minute march by the opponent way too many times.
