I haven't posted to a forum in years. One reason - we are not relevant.

After today. Clearly no progress. I think one of the threads on here is hyping that we were the better conditioned team. Ok. Great. We ran wind sprints....awesome.

My point of view. I have lost nearly all interest in Purdue. Not Purdue athletics. Purdue in general. I graduated in 96, very proud alum. A key connection point to my interest and my wallet is athletics. It's a shame how bad we are.

I couldn't tell you if I think we will win 2 games, 3 games or 4 games. Why? We are so horrible it doesn't even make it worth it to study the schedule.

It makes me sick to think how far the program has fallen.

I'm sure there will be snarky comments about my post. However, years ago, there would have been 1000's of users on this page commenting about this game. Today, there are only a small group of die hards.

What a shame.

I agree....We gave up 41 points to Marshall!!!... Marshall!!!...What conference are they in? .... Anyone? ..It is not like we were playing Alabama.....I remember the day when if your football team was in one of the power conferences...You beat the team you started your season with....We are now one of the teams that other schools schedule to beat....As i have said in the past...You get what you pay for ..DH had one season and a school not even in the mid major....He can not recruit or coach...If you guys are happy with the "moral" victories of the team....GREAT......But no one is buying tickets to see this team play at home...which means they will not overhaul the coaching staff

We will get the BS speech about how Purdue played well but just needs to finish the game, like no one knew that! Its like losing is now accepted as OK, and expected, with a stack of pre written excuses to choose from!

I also have not posted in years. What was frustrating to me was that the game yesterday was a "winnable" game. Going into the game I wasn't sure it was going to be winnable with being 7.5 point underdog at Marshall. However, it was clear by the end of the first quarter that Purdue was going to be in it. The football team has been so bad the last few years that there haven't been to many winnable games and so the team has to take advantage when they come along and clearly haven't figured out how to do that. To me it was crushing to have a 4 point 4th quarter lead and then not even cover the spread. As if covering the spread would've been a moral victory. That is how far we have fallen.

I graudated in '99 and agree completely. I used Purdue to get a degree, and they used me to get a bunch of money. I was JPC and a season ticket holder for about a decade. I don't feel like I owe them anything now. Frankly, I'd be more impressed if they got rid of football altogether instead of letting a loser like Morgan Burke continue to try and pull the wool over the eyes of the few fans of the program that still exist.
