uva's title was the flukiest championship of all time. They needed a horrendous call/missed call in every game to advance to the final that year. And when they lost as the #1 seed, they got smoked by 20 points.

Let me be clear. I hate virginia. I was probably rooting harder for Purdue tonight than I rooted for my own team yesterday. I wanted virginia to remain the sole #1 to lose to a #16. Sure enough, every year a tournament time, the entire hoops-watching world would get numerous reminders of their epic fail. It was the gift that kept on giving.

Thanks, Purdue, for robbing the world of that bit of joy.

Va & Purdue are similar in so many ways. They lose tourney games they are not supposed to also

The year they won, good team that also had quick guards and a top ten draft pick. Not sure Purdue has that next year??
