You only get a player like Rondale once in a great while. From a PR, recruiting, visibility, etc standpoint, the school and program need to take advantage of that and need to go all in on putting together a massive Heisman campaign for Moore.

Who was the last WR to win the award? It's more and more looking like a best QB on the best team award to me. Nothing wrong with that, but a WR on an 8-4 team isn't going to steal the thunder from Trevor Lawrence or Tua this year.

I thought he had a legitimate shot at some publicity around the Heisman last year....his highlight tape is full of OMG I've never seen that before type plays and he's only a freshman! He just has to hope he keeps up the dynamic plays through 2020 and that there aren't any super teams with really good QBs that year.

I think he might have lower numbers this year. Defenses will key on him and dare the outside WR to beat us. That, and i hope they limit his special teams touches.

Rodgers,Howard and Woodson would not of won Heisman without their special teams kick returns

Just a quick question. What were the records of the teams of those three receivers when they won their heisman? I would have to believe Moore's chances of winning a heisman would be diminished if Purdue doesn't at least win 9 games.

Rodgers was on 71' nebraska nat champs, Woodson was 97' mich nat champs and Howard was on 91' mich #6 big ten champs

This is where I hope Bell and Wright will be able to help with this year to open up Moore more.

As far as special teams, I am not sure it will go down. If we didn’t use Moore for KR or PR, who would we use, Sheffield, Amad, someone else?

i wouldnt be opposed to either getting KR or PR snaps.

I also believe Moore's stats may be less chiefly because when receivers Bell and Wright get the ball, I expect big things from them as well. We may not need Moore to do everything this year!

Sindelar or whoever plays QB is gonna be a big part of Rondale getting Heisman attention. Without good QB play, forget the Heisman

I like that Moore is a student of the game and a student in the classroom.

It will go to Tua or Lawrence this year.
Lawrence will be the overwhelming favorite unless he gets hurt. I imagine the Lawrence family will challenge the NFL on being able to come out as a sophomore.

Good luck with that.

He’s better off just sitting for a year

Oh geez nat. Don’t just sit out the bowl game, lets mail the entire season in. Lord knows he’s got more 5* QBs coming in behind him.

Not suggesting he do that. Was saying that fighting the nfl 3 year rule is futile. If you’re worried about injury, just sit or go to Canada

His skill set is raw. Much better runner than a passer right now.

I think it fits in more with Urban Meyer’s O style than it does with Ryan Days.
Agreed. Looks better than martell though

Moore may definitely be a long shot but the exposure for Purdue at least having him in the conversation all year will pay dividends in recruiting and national exposure. So I say let’s start the campaign now. Boiler Up.

Moore could have less catches and less yards BUT be a bigger impact player overall for the offense. If defenses are going to choose to double him while in man to man defenses, you are leaving players like Bell, Anderson, and Sparks in one on one situations that they should win more times than not. You also likely leave players like Hopkins in one on one situations with LB's...which is a win almost every time. If teams choose to play zone, you run in to the problem of Moore running option routes away from the zone coverage and getting space to move and make cuts in the open field.

When does the Rondale Moore Heisman campaign start?

When Purdue is ranked with 10+ wins and goes to a major bowl....anything less won't get Moore a legitimate shot at the Heisman.

Tua is already the chosen one unless he gets hurt. I know it takes talent, but winning the Heisman while on a loaded team seems a bit easy and unfair to the rest of the field.

That's my point. The guy is arguably one of the, if not the, most exciting players in college football. How often can a team claim to have that player? Whether he wins the H or not, it's tons of free pub for Brohm and the program and allows you to showcase to other talented offense players how the PU offense is fun, exciting and built for playmakers.

Wrong. The hype machine starts this summer. The H is a beauty contest. Yes, it sometimes goes to the best player on the best team, undeservedly so, but not always the best player in the nation.
Brohm will get Moore 15+ touches a game catching passes, handoffs, kick return game etc. If he can have big games in primetime against good team (OSU last year) then he'll be in the conversation.

He's going off at 50-1 here in Vegas.

Right now, it's all about perception and noise. It's up to Purdue to start making that noise, getting him talked about in the conversations between the college football talking heads. Like I said, it's a popularity contest and PU has to do it's part with the hype.
Again, this is an opportunity for Purdue to showcase the talent, program, facilities, style of play, etc., it's not just about the Heisman.
