While I suspect that Kostas my be waiting on NBA decisions, others have highlighted this week was the signing deadline. If he doesn't sign this week, can he still commit later and go on our August Spain trip ?

Probably waiting to see if Swanigan comes back

What are the chances we end up with Biggie and Kostas?

What kind of leverage does Kostas have anyway? What high major program can he "play right away" anyway?

There's no way he's a 1 and done player anyway, so if he comes to Purdue he could be the first guy off the bench and backup the 3 and 4 spots and he can start next year when Biggie is likely gone.

April isn't as much a "signing deadline", as it is a targeted "signing period". He must be signed and enrolled by the trip to participate.

Yeah, except for the fact that Kostas has stated publicly that he wants to play the 4 and have the opportunity for immediate playing time. Other than that, you're spot on.
Where has he said he wants to play the 4? Everywhere I've seen, he says he's in between a 3 and 4?

In this video from a couple weeks ago the interviewer specifically asks where he sees himself playing in college. His answer is: "anywhere from the 1 to the 3 and maybe a little 4". So doesn't sound to me like he'd be overly concerned about what Biggie decides.

There is literally no correlation between the two.
just for clarification, there definitely is a correlation as I can correlated anything against almost anything. What there may not be is a causal relationship in the mathematical computation. I understand exactly what you are suggesting, but the wording is what leads some to think statistics can support anything. Just had to deal with too many that get going astray with correlations... :)

If true, then he would prefer to play with Swanigan, just like Swanigan wanted to play with Hammons and Haas. His "natural" position was filled, giving him the opportunity to play the position he saw would be best for his future.

Not sure about him saying he wants to play the 4 but I have heard he wants to play lots of minutes as a freshman. Looking at the kid if Swanigan goes I would guess Vince plays the four over him. Kostas is listed as 170.. Also its no sure thing Kostas would get a lot of minutes if Caleb leaves because I would guess Basil has something to say about that.

After reading all of this, I think the kid is a project and is behind Taylor in projected PT. You can disagree with me, but I don't see him as an immediate impact player. Let's hope that Taylor steps up fast.

I'm not going to disagree with you because I have no idea, I just hope that we work out something where we are not counting on big things from JT. If he is better than a top 100 freshman coming in then that would be great, but I have my doubts.

Similar freak athlete reputations in HS. Biggest difference is that Kostas didn't lose a year to injury. Teams can always use more athletic bigs, as long as they have high basketball IQ. :D

We agree pretty much. My statement is based on the idea that JT does improve. Then his experience and maturity by age should make him more valuable and productive. But, we haven't seen that yet from him. Now Kostas as #89. That doesn't mean he will be productive either. We just don't know about how much he can contribute.
