It usually does.

This has been the Purdue brand going back to Danny Hope, and unfortunately, it appears to perpetuate under Darrell Hazel.

C'mon, coaches. Be aggressive, know the team's and individual player's strengths, and play to them. And don't let up, no matter what! To use a track and field saying, run through the tape!

Playing to the strengths and weaknesses of this team's offensive players would dictate being conservative. Think about it, if the coaches were too conservative, and the QB still threw 4 picks with 2 being pick sixes...

I think the OP was referring to the off coverage on Marshall's last TD drive.

Or perhaps the picks were due to NOT playing to AA's and his teammates' strengths. I don't know him, of course, but let's say he needs a simpler offense or more down field plays to open up the middle. I didn't see enough of this.

And from midway through the 3rd quarter to game's end, I really had the sense of the offense playing in a manner to avoid making mistakes, i.e., not to lose. This was, as Yogi Berra would say, deja vu all over again. We've seen that occur so many times over the last 6-7 years that it makes me crazy.
