What is the Objective of Purdue's Football Program?

It can't be winning. You cannot go an entire season without a unit that can reliably make field goals from 40 yrs in. This is the B1G and we go into the season without a unit that can make field goals? As much as we complain about Shoop's offense (with good reason), you've got to be able to get 3 out of drives that stall inside the 30. We don't. Prior to yesterday's game I don't think we even attempted a 3 since the BG game.

The objectives of the PU football program are to: 1) satisfy membership requirements for the B1G, so PU gets it cut of the BTN money and MB's inflated salary can be justified on the pretense he's a B1G AD; 2) generate enough revenue to cover football expenses and have some left over to contribute toward non-revenue sports, since the BTN money alone isn't enough; 3) to trick the football-loving alums into giving more money to JPC, on the pretense that the donations are needed, and will be used, to support and improve the football program. Think about it? Is it easier to raise JPC donations for football or swimming? So obviously, a "smart" AD, like MB, takes the revenue generated by football and uses it to support all the non-revenue sports, then tells the fan base, and the JPC, that donations are necessary to "support football" and make it competitive. This is exactly how MB runs the PU Athletic Dept.

What's the objective of Purdue's Football Program? Obviously to screw up the other team's strength of schedule. Our motto "We won't beat you, but we'll ruin your SOS...We're the "Spoiler Makers"!!!!

Once again I must take a hard look at our film before I can discern what we are talking about!:D

I think that the Objective must be to ply rich alums with liquor and flattery so to hit them up for donations. It can't be providing enjoyable sports competitions and the pride of a winning program. Providing sinecure for incompetent AD personnel is also a major focus.

It is so unfortunate how far this program has fallen.

That sir is exactly why Title IX requirements are misleading. By definition there must be equal number / value of Male and Female athletic scholarships. Therefore if the Football program has 80+ scholarships, womens exclusive athletics (commonly not +revenue) such as field hockey and softball gain hugely and other male exclusive programs (non-revenue) are restricted.

Yes, but Title IX didn't require us to spend $20M on a women's softball stadium. $20M that could have been invested in football, and that likely would have provided an ROI. Title IX simply requires that we provide the scholarships. The unfortunate effect of Title IX is that school's like Purdue don't field teams in men's soccer, or men's gymnastics.

Yep it helps even out the scholarships… hey wait, 20 million for a softball field, + women's only soccer field.

Its to make all employers think that as a Purdue grad you will accept subpar compensation because your must be an idiot savant because your school hasn't the brains to fire a loser like Haz.

When you collect money under false pretenses isn't that called FRAUD?

Was anyone solicited over the telephone for $$ from Morgan's Athletic Department saying it was for one purpose IE football?

If you have been a victim of fraud see these folks:
