We're rated #1 in the BIG10 and the country

As I said before, this season will give a good indication of the over condition of the program. Look competitive in these early games and win some that traditionally haven't in the past and Purdue could take a HUGE step forward.

While, impressed with new coach and staff actions, predicted 3-4 wins as a success in 2023 before the new hire and will stick with that thinking even though great moves so far in staff and transfers

We are likely going 8-4. Run heavy teams without a dynamic (not play action) passing game just don’t do well against walters. That’s everyone except Fresno state, Wisconsin and Ohio state. Wisconsin will be new to the spread. Ohio state will have a new QB and schools like Fresno state are losing a lot of their best players to transfer.

Purdue should be in almost every game they play. Now.. the bounces don’t go your way in some.. so I’m thinking 7-5/9-3. But this will be a good football team.

Walters has cut a lot of non contributing parts and I think these guys are going to come out tough and disciplined in the fall.

Both of the lines are in better shape now then we were in years 1-3 with Brohm.

It's a wash. There's no way of knowing with roster changes all over the country.

On paper, the coaches look perdy good.

Gotta be a wake-up call for some players to see teammates cut, and knowing that Walters can cut more after the season if needed…

It is .. and you’ll get people on here who are probably from their hometown saying “that’s mean.” When these guys are 22 that’s how it’s gonna be for the rest of their life. If they can’t pay the bills when they are 29, their wife isn’t gonna say “oh well you were a great prospect junior year of high school.”

Kory Taylor was here 4-5 years and appeared on one kick off. Now, can that happen despite a players best efforts? Sure. But .. since I’ve watched Purdue (98) we have had a lot of guys just go to school here. And why should they get to stay 4-5 years.. especially when they can leave twice with no waiver.. because they were good junior year of high school?

I’m sure a lot more young players will be moved along and a lot of players who are seniors will probably be told that Purdue has met their four year commitment to said player and that it’s over. I’m not sure we won’t see more cuts after the season than this offseason

This "hardest" schedule thing is overblown
Maybe so with the transfer portal moves that get made, but PU’s schedule is objectively ambitious. Fresno, VT, and Syracuse as the OOC with UM and OSU as the crossovers?

This COULD be one of those years where the Boilers are pretty good but end up with a losing record. The fans just need to maintain perspective on that and focus on the quality of football being played and not just W-L record.
