Mike Bobinski makes phone call asking Glenn Sugiyama from DHR Intl how's it going?
Then, back to his hand held Blackjack Electronics game. Whew, full day.

You forgot: "Had to leave message on Sugiyama's answering machine because Mr. Sugiyama was dealing with another client that he could actually land a coach for."

Athletic Directors 101: You don't fire a coach in October and wait until December to hire a new coach. Totally defeats the purpose of firing Hazell. If Fleck goes elsewhere Bo should be on the hot seat for such a boneheaded move.

I totally disagree. I'd rather have an interim that could motivate the kids. I'll bet if you ask the players they'd say the same thing!

Maybe if the coach is 0-6, but not at 3-3. And to the fans, that's throwing in the towel, which is fine if you, back it up, but not making a hire after this long is just sad.

Hazell needed fired without question. His teams were so awful it truly was unwatchable and hard to believe, harddddddddd to believe. They were that bad. He should have hired a coach before December though. It definitely defeated the purpose of a mid season fire without a doubt. I am a fan of non routine decisions with such extreme failure Purdue football has endured lately. A decision needs made not based on fear about criticism or losing your job as AD. Far too often these coaches get away with 4 year deals and produce ZERO for it. Then blame the university or this or that. That trend needs bucked at all cost right now. Look at the last 10 years of Purdue football. Any coach could have done that out there. Purdue needs far more turnover. I say 2 year deals with extensions based on success mutually and fairly is far better than trapping yourself in with a guy like Hazell which is disastrous.

It is confidence. Having a confident person come in above all else who can describe how he can win with what he can control. The new football facility helps. Confidence, involvement, positive attitude, new ideas, and skill. Purdue needs to worry a lot less about who they hire and a lot more about why they hire someone.

The way to do that is to get guys who want to win. It is confidence. Having a confident person come in above all else who can describe how he can win with what he can control. Lot of Twitterverse todo about Butch Jones leaving UT for Purdue tonight?

Two totally separate things. We should have a coach now. Poor execution that we don't.

Wrong agin in my opinion. During the year you'll only get someone else's castaways (like Miles) or someone that couldn't even get a job for this year. All losers! Was LSU stupid for getting rid of Miles and putting a dried up alcoholic in his place and hoping it worked out? Lots of teams fire HCs during the year and promote someone on staff as interim. Sometimes you've just gotta cut your loses.

Now, that isn't to say that I don't wish BM, er MB (excuse me), hadn't grown a set at the end of last year, swallowed his pride and fired Hazell and hired someone else already. But MB2 did the right thing IMHO.

Firing was right. Not hiring by now was wrong. Season is over. If you want to talk about cast offs...

Umm you do realize our top two targets are in Conference Championship games this weekend. That's why one hasn't been named

I see the self-entitled crowd is already at it with this hire and firing Hazell was most certainly the right thing to do. Those of you getting on the AD because he hasn't announced a hire yet to match your timetable, need to get a grip and realize the world doesn't revolve around you.

Not one of us has any idea as to what has been going on behind closed doors. And those that claim they do, don't either and are making crap up.

Our coach will get named when the time is right for all parties involved, not when some forum people think it should happen.

Not a bad move at all if the purpose was the see what type of coach MBob thought could be successful. The differences between Hazell and Parker are night and day and what you saw from Parker is probably what MBob is looking for in his next coach...but obviously with more experience. This is why I think the top candidates are going to be younger (now that Miles is obviously off the list) like Fleck and Brohm OR have a lightning rod personality. If you couldn't see the night and day difference in the game plans, approach, and overall execution of the team once Parker was in control...I have to assume you know very little about the intricacies of the game of football.

Self entitled crowd? You do realize it is a game played for entertainment. Basically for the fans entertainment. People are wondering if we are actually getting turned down and die diligence is being done or it's a comedy of errors. The track record of late is the latter. Personally I think we are waiting for Fleck. Time will tell if it's the right call. This is an opinion, I am entitled to one of those, and if the AD can't handle fans expectations, well he probably would be the right man for the job.

I guess if I am not going to bitch and moan on a message board where is the better place to do so?

Umm, you do realize that the Oregon job has just opened up & I'm sure there will be many more before the weekend. So waiting until conference championship games to be over makes it a smart move to fire DH in October with a 3-3 team?

Don't worry if all targeted coaches turn down the Purdue offer, coach Hazell is still under contract and can be reinstated for next year.

This is beginning to feel like the Haz hiring where we waited for the guy we wanted (Jones) and when he ditched us there were no options left.
