i Predicted that when MSU made their run in the tourney. Same old...same old. why did purdue staff all show up for the IHSSA tournament game...look like dumb asses now!
How many more Indiana high school players to Michigan State...dawson, harris, and now Swanigan b4 we hire a coach to shut down the state lines to outside recruiters???!!!
Unfortunately this is the typical reaction when we lose recruiting battles to MSU - they must be cheating. Let's face it CMP has not way to counter Izzo's sales pitch. MSU has had tons of tourney success compared to Purdue.

All that Purdue has to do is Beat MSU and run Deeper in NCAA. Izzo enjoys success because he has been successful. When Painter starts beating Izzo and MSU, then Purdue can put up the the border fenses... until then we have to get 2nds.

Oh yeah...I forgot about Zac Irvin and Robinson JR to Michigan. It goes on and on...no final fours with that crap happening!
Generally don't ever get my hopes up too high for these high profile recruitments. Stopped that a long time ago. But I started to let my guard down a little bit on this one though. Damn, shoulda went with my gut...
No reason to let your guard down as long as CMP is in charge. No reason to get your hopes up as he doesn't land these types of players historically. "But he tried hard and put in a lot of time". Yep, even Swanigan said Purdue was recruiting him the hardest. Unfortunately, that means nothing as Painter misses again.
I've got a pretty good handle on why he thinks like that. Most here, like him, defend Painter vehemently because they fear Burke will hire a Hope/Akers/Colletto/Burtnett to replace him. It's fear.
I think youre right about focusing on 4 star and players that fit Painter's style. While you can't fault Painter for going after an in-State 5 star, most 5 star guys don't fit with what Painter does. I like Coach and I like the way the culture has changed over the last 2 years. That said, if he doesn't change his recruiting style, we should not get our hopes up about any 5 star guy.

if anything, we need to start paying. but we are just now paying the coaches(!).
the rich get richer, no way to argue izzo's success/development/etc.
i just hope we don't lose some of the parity that does exist in bball.
What is Painter's style? ...Happy to make the Big Dance?.....Happy to be in the top half of the Big 10?....If we can not get some big time recruits from our own state what can we expect? ....Its time to stop thinking about the days of the "baby boilers" and realize what this program is....A solid program that we do not have to worry about cheating....and maybe one that will make the tourney and be competitive in the big 10....Until we start landing a big time recruit once every couple of years we will never make a final four...Keady did not do it and he had some great teams
Please ignore msubball2022. He is NOT a Spartan. I've never once seen him on Spartanmag.com. He's only got like 10 posts that should be your first clue that he's either a wolvie or Hoosier. With regards to Izzo cheating, c'mon get real! Izzo is one of the cleanest out there.
