I just put a 6 pack in the fridge!
No reason to let your guard down as long as CMP is in charge. No reason to get your hopes up as he doesn't land these types of players historically. "But he tried hard and put in a lot of time". Yep, even Swanigan said Purdue was recruiting him the hardest. Unfortunately, that means nothing as Painter misses again.Originally posted by Schnelk:
Generally don't ever get my hopes up too high for these high profile recruitments. Stopped that a long time ago. But I started to let my guard down a little bit on this one though. Damn, shoulda went with my gut...

What was inaccurate about the comment? He was spot on and the truth is a tough pill.Originally posted by PU pit bull:

You're the troll. You would rather Painter stay than Purdue succeed. They should kick you off of this board. You're not a true Purdue fan. If so, how can you root for a coach like Painter who fails time and time again in recruiting and on the court???Originally posted by PU pit bull:

I've got a pretty good handle on why he thinks like that. Most here, like him, defend Painter vehemently because they fear Burke will hire a Hope/Akers/Colletto/Burtnett to replace him. It's fear.Originally posted by cprh9u:

Have we ever beat MSU in the Painter era? Time for someone else to try.Originally posted by St_Peter:
Man, I sure thought we had a shot to get this kid. It does stink to lose out again to MSU. If we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have luck at all. Is it time to stop focusing on any 5 star recruits and try to get a couple 4 stars that will commit early?
exactly.Originally posted by Joe Civil:

Unfortunately this is the typical reaction when we lose recruiting battles to MSU - they must be cheating. Let's face it CMP has not way to counter Izzo's sales pitch. MSU has had tons of tourney success compared to Purdue.
