That game sucked. Gotta make your free throws. We let that slip away. On the plus side, we don't have to play two more games where there is a risk of getting hurt..

Will we slip all the way to a 6 seed now? Might be better playing in the bottom half of the bracket away from the 1 seed. Who knows this year.

Honestly, a likely 5 seed but now depending on the previous 5-6 seeds, Purdue could drop down a bit. If UM plays in to the BTT title game, it could slide in to a 5 seed the same for Maryland. That would slide Purdue to a 6 seed given the lower quality of play in recent weeks versus in January.

It doesn't matter where we're seeded...we will lose in the 1st or 2nd round.
Sadly I agree whole heartedly. As much as Keady & Painter have won at Purdue...none were meaningful in the eyes of recruits. And let's be honest, blue chip recruits continually choose to not attend Purdue because of this fact. The only constant in this is Gene Keady and his understudies.
Every year my hatred of this coaching style (whatever that means I do not know. But it does not produce when it matters) grows. But I love Purdue and I love the young men who choose to play here, so I continue to watch out of my love and respect. That being said, I really see a pattern of what my high school football coach called "playing not to lose". This is all coaching. Players do not just choke in big games for nearly 40 years straight without that being a factor. Coaches & players that play to win...WIN

Committee doesn't use the criteria of who is hot and who is not. It's based on your whole resume. Michigan will not be seeded as highly as Purdue. Not even close.

No way in hell will they give a double digit loss team a 5 seed.

Did you read the article with the Bobinski interview yesterday? He absolutely used the 'who is hot' measuring stick.

I didn't read the article, but he may be referring to how it used to be. There was a change made a couple years ago to drop the "hot team" considerations. This has been covered many places. Attached is a link to Jerry Palm's Q&A that addresses this (excerpt below):

9. How a team finishes. This is a relatively recent change in the committee's thinking. Teams can help or hurt themselves as much in November as they can in March. The games count the same.

I would think we will now be one of the lower seeded 5's... I cant see us falling to a 6.. there's just no way we fall to a 6

So, because of a loss to a team that has been playing well, PU will drop from a 4 to a 6. Hardly with all the losses above them. By your logic, Kansas losing to TCU should drop the Jayhawks to a three seed.

When you have a #1 seed in your own tourney, who won the league by 2 games, goes one and done....you deserve whatever seed you get. If folks think the league is down, and your top seed does that? That's a perceived confirmation. We have nobody to blame. No excuse for being beaten by a team that wrecks a plane, gets to town late, plays on consecutive days, and beats you in OT.
