Trent Sisley Arrives
Trent Sisley, the highly touted in-state prospect, will be at Purdue this weekend for an unofficial visit.
The 2025 forward prospect has been on Purdue’s radar since he entered high school and there is mutual interest, obviously.
Purdue will have to fight off IU, who appears to be the early favorite, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Iowa among others.
The 6-7, 200-pound forward can play either forward position and can stretch the floor as a four. He has been to campus several times before, but this time around he will get to see the team in action and see a packed Ross-Ade Stadium.
Notes for Saturday’s Game
Purdue is THIN at cornerback this weekend. An unfortunate game for it to happen, too. Ohio State boasts one of the best wide receiver groups in college football, led by sure-fire top-10 pick, Marvin Harrison Jr.
Purdue will roll out Markevious Brown and Derrick Rogers as the two starting cornerbacks. Marquis Wilson, who in my opinion has been Purdue’s best corner this season, is out for the year. It would be a welcomed site Saturday if Salim Turner-Muhammad suited up for the first time of the season.
If an injury occurs to Brown or Rogers, Botros Alisandro and former wide receiver, Zion Steptoe will be thrown into action, just not a great scenario.
Hudson Card is banged up, it was evident with the tape on his neck and shoulders at Iowa, but he is expected to play. He took a lot of hits against the Hawkeyes stout defense last Saturday both his fault and the offensive lines.
Tyrone Tracy Jr is a game-time decision with a groin injury. Expect Mockobee to be the lead back with Dylan Downing on deck.
I am not sure about the status of Ben Freehill. He may or may not be back. The kicking game has struggled since he has been out with an injury.
80+ Visitors?
Purdue is hoping for a major upset this weekend. If so, it will be in front of nearly 90 prospects' eyes. The 2018 Ohio State upset had over 60 visitors that day, but this one even blows that date out of the water.
Of the nearly 90 visitors, 13 are committed to Purdue, leaving over 70+ that Purdue is trying to reel in or get a feel for.
One of note is 4-star tight end prospect Tayvion Galloway. His senior year has not been as outstanding as many would believe it to be, but don't be surprised if he commits to Purdue soon. The interest seems to be heating up between the two again.
But, this weekend is more geared towards getting the 2025 prospects on campus, as the 2024 national signing day is just around the corner, early December.
Look at Jace’s post on the boatload of visitors arriving this weekend.
