A ton of people at the practice. Outside about 50 degrees and a haze (not what you're thinking). Brownsburg sent about 8-10 coaches and there were several other groups of coaches. Just a sprinkling of recruits, one from York HS, 6'5" 235 LB (his dad is a Purdue grad). He was all conference and is an excellent student. Both seem to be outstanding men! Kinda listened in to Holt talk to the pair and then met Holt. Seems to be VERY intense (not like Brohm, who, by comparison, is laid-back).
Met the AD, apparently he is a 'neighbor' (1/2 mile away). Seems to be a good guy. (What can you tell in a 2 minute conversation?)
It's hard for this untrained eye to get a true sense of the QB situation, but here goes. Blough is running with the 1's and looked good except for hitting the safety chest high on one play. Sipe seems to be running with the 2's, then Plummer, then Griffin. Elijah threw for the first 30 minutes in a couple of drills on the real grass field. Arm looks strong as ever and he jogged normally from spot to spot. Griffin seems to have put on some muscle after his surgery during last season and threw pretty well. It's hard during drills to actually see much difference among the first 4, but game knowledge, experience and reactions are the key, and you don't see much of that in drills.
Since it's spring ball, there's a great deal of movement, with different players coming in, in different situations, but there doesn't seem to be of a shakeup of what you would expect on the OL (Barron, Yacoobi, Swingler, McCann - I'm missing somebody, but I don't know who).
RB featured 'the 8-ball' and Horvath (who seems very big to me). D.J. was in street clothes, and I don't know what Tario or Worship look like, so I'm assuming they were there.
Receivers featured Wright (a bunch of catches), Anthrop (a bunch of catches), Franklin, Catlett, Zico, Pitman and Trussel. Generally, in that order.
Coach was 'fired up' a couple of times at some of the gaffs, both physical and mental and displayed it. His final chat included a description of practice as 'mediocre', with a challenge to the defense to come out with some emotion for the rest of the spring.
