Watching some replay, does Card have a slow release?

Maybe I'm used to AOC but I felt Card looked slow and releases the ball in an odd and slow manner.

His run ability will be an asset.

You need to led the coaching staff know about his run ability. There were 4th and short situations where a play should have been called where he had the option to run. The coaching staff screwed the pooch.

I agree, but maybe they are concerned he might get hurt. Don’t know how deep the cupboard is behind him.

This is why I wanted to see Brady Allen take over. Card is starting to look like a typical dual threat quarterback. Yeah it's nice that he can run but a QB's main job especially at Purdue is to throw the football. All of the Great Purdue QBs that went on to have Stellar careers in the NFL were classic drop back pocket passers. I watched a lot of Brady Allen's films when he was in high school and I saw a card yesterday. I also saw card play at Texas. Brady Allen was the highest ranked recruit we ever had at Purdue with the possible exceptions of Kyle Orton and the problem child known as Jeff George. Allen has a very quick release and gets the ball down field. He's not a big threat to run but so what. I'm very sorry that our program let him get away.

Card looked like it was his first game with a new team in a new system. We have all been spoiled by 2 great years with O’Connell. Aidan was up and down a lot his first couple years too. In fact I remember weekly debates here where people wanted to bench him for a more mobile option.

I think Card will be fine. We scored 35 points. That should have been enough to win. Clean some things up and lets see if we can get better.

Brady is a nice kid but was struggling with the speed of the game big time. Hope he succeeds at louisville
