My concern is if he was a steal and everything, why didn't he flip when all of the other WKU athletes flipped and why did Brohm wait so long to seek his commitment?
Brohm has been recruiting him for two years. I'd say he was interested. What does the date of the kid's decision have to do with anything? I wish I had your sources. You seem to know more than even the coaches recruiting these guys.My concern is if he was a steal and everything, why didn't he flip when all of the other WKU athletes flipped and why did Brohm wait so long to seek his commitment?
It's called perception. Timing wise it doesn't look good if your last two recruits are a couple of 2* star players from your previous school that didn't flip sooner. It sends the message that they were not really wanted or a high priority but we couldn't find anybody better, so we gave them a scholarship. The headlines said Winfield was our top priority for the weekend, but instead we signed Major. So much for this site's credibility. And when all the press is focused on the last week of your program, you want to go out with a bang rather than flipping two guys from WKU. If we're going to steal a player, I want that player to be Yeast or somebody committed to OSU or ND or IU. Flipping somebody from your old school on the final weekend just doesn't send out that burst of excitement. And regardless of what Winfield says, by bringing in Major, it's pretty easy to speculate Brohm is not going to add another db to this recruiting class. The same is true about Payton. The addition of Wright means Payton isn't coming. The addition of Wright also means we probably won't sign a TE. I don't use sources. I use deductive thinking and logic. And that same thinking says we need to still sign a RB, LB, and DT. And we have how many scholarships left to give? 1? 2? 3 at most?
None of my deduction agree with your thoughts.None of your deductions are correct
You assume offers were first come first served with no foundation in factNone of my deduction agree with your thoughts.

Currently we have 20 commits. I believe we are holding a scholarship for Williams. RB Matthews would be a nice addition. DT Harris would be a dream come true.
rather than giving my opinions on other players, I will just say I still have hopes certain players I'm following will sign, and hopes certain other players I'm following will sign elsewhere.

This guy sounds like he either has a huge ax to grind with Brohm or he has some sour grapes. Is this you Coach Hazell?
No axe to grind. I'm just the guy who hated the Hazell hire the day after it was announced. And rather than being quiet and say let's give him time, I said it was a huge mistake. I also said if the goal was to finish in last place, we could have kept Hope at half the salary.
And today rather than announcing Payton committed to replace Hayes, we have a virtually unknown 2* WR from Kentucky announcing his commitment. I'm just tired of Purdue recruiting projects who will make zero contributions their first three years and may develop and play as a senior. I'm also tired of people saying give him time, and he knows what he's doing, and be patient and this rebuild is going to work this time.
It comes from being a lifetime Purdue and Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks fan. I've heard all the give him more time and he knows more than you speeches for the last 30 years. Is it possible he doesn't know as much as you think he does? We are paying the guy $3.5 million, not $750 K. I expect better decisions and a better return for that type of investment. And at this time as a stockholder, I don't like the early returns I'm seeing, because basically I don't see these moves translating into wins.
There are only 4 players left that Hazell recruited, and 1 player left that Parker recruited. This is clearly Brohm's recruiting class. I had hoped in taking over a power 5 team he would recruit power 5 players. When I see Brohm recruiting the same players he recruited for WKU, I become concerned.
And today rather than announcing Payton committed to replace Hayes, we have a virtually unknown (to me) 2* WR from Kentucky announcing his commitment. .
Why did Hayes decide to bolt to MSU at the last minute? I
I am going to be honest I want to be an optimist, but realism makes me mad. This guy sounds like he either has a huge ax to grind with Brohm or he has some sour grapes. Is this you Coach Hazell?
true but I think he'd do better in our O.Dont overthink it. MSU is a better program.
