What’s the big mystery with fans this year, right now if the team shoots well we play well and win, when we shoot terrible, as with most teams we lose. The WKU loss was due to terrible shooting, two nights in a row, and the shock of losing our first game of the year in the fashion and manner that we did.
The team and the coaching staff are still learning each other and also blending in some inexperienced new players. In time, the team will start to play Purdue Defense and the Staff will learn to trust and utilize more of the new faces. Haarms earned more playing time from his performance last night and others will also if they show it in practice on a regular basis.
Painter is an old dog in his ways but I don’t believe he is a dumb one. He will listen to his staff and continue to adjust his rotations faster to match what the opponent puts on the floor. Unless we fall flat on our faces Purdue will be one of the 64 and each one of those 64 has to win the same number of games to advance.
Regarding playing time, if a player is unhappy with his pine time, show more in practice, learn while gathering splinters and show what you got on the court when you get in, if not run away from you challenge...IMO!
