For all of you so called fans who quit on this team on November 23rd - we will take you back. We played well enough to win vs Tenn but not great, we played like a High School Team last night because we just didn’t care which was disappointing, but when we played against a team with a ton of talent we played like a Final Four team - against a team with next years number 1 pick in the NBA draft. So either support this team which is gonna be extremely good in my opinion or cry about Painter some more and just quit watching

No one ‘quit on this team’...many of us get tired of bad basketball from players that are better than that. Plus when you come close to dying from cancer and you may not get another year to ‘wait for a better result’ you lose patience easier when the kids don’t ‘show up’....that’s all

Tap the brakes a bit... we played well tonight, but Arizona plays TERRIBLE defense. Let’s see how we do Tuesday before we get too chesty...

we had a great game. great teams don't dwell on victory, they look forward to the next battle.

I remember an interview with Alabama's Saban after a national championship. the interviewer asked him if he was finally going to relax, and he said he'd savor the victory for a couple of hours, look at some film and hit the recruiting trail tomorrow.

Make no mistake - this was a great win. Trier came into this game averaging 28 PPG. and he was named a pre-season all American. And Purdue's collective defense held him to 8 points.

but make no mistake, if we face Arizona again down the road, they will be a different team. So bring out a bottle of sparkling Welch's grape juice, and celebrate . they earned it.

No I don’t think they play grea defense but give our team credit for finally making some shots and playing with a purpose. We play well - no credit. We have like crap and we have no shot - which is it? We destroyed them and we could have just quit tonight.

We should be undefeated. I'm not going to celebrate a 1-2 record in a tournament. Last I checked you need to go 6-0 in a tournament to go down in history. Like I said I'll get excited if they turn this into a long win streak.

If Purdue downs UL and Butler, will you come back and give CMP a bit of praise rather than the constant s*** storm you usually throw?

A win streak. So if they beat Louisville, Butler, Maryland, and Northwestern and anyone else they play between then I'll give him credit for turning it around.

So if they win all of their remaining games basically? That would be one hell of a win streak
That would end up being a 7 game streak against likely 6 NCAA Tourney teams (Zona, UL, NU, Maryland, Valpo, Butler). Sheesh, that’s a murder’s row. Probably 5 of those will be a chance at a RPI Top 50 win and Valpo might be Top 100-150.

Are you always so negative? Post after post I'm getting sick of it... If you don't support this team why are you even on here?

I have a lowly Purdue North Central degree :( Right, but "she" doesn't seem like the typical troll. Seems like just a genuinely negative person.

That's a high quality troll unlike snu or whatever shows up under a different name every 3 months. A high quality troll will maintain a slightly believable persona for forever, especially if it's getting the desired response.

Look at when it joined. Look at how many positive posts you've ever seen from it. Stop feeding it.

What’s the big mystery with fans this year, right now if the team shoots well we play well and win, when we shoot terrible, as with most teams we lose. The WKU loss was due to terrible shooting, two nights in a row, and the shock of losing our first game of the year in the fashion and manner that we did.

The team and the coaching staff are still learning each other and also blending in some inexperienced new players. In time, the team will start to play Purdue Defense and the Staff will learn to trust and utilize more of the new faces. Haarms earned more playing time from his performance last night and others will also if they show it in practice on a regular basis.

Painter is an old dog in his ways but I don’t believe he is a dumb one. He will listen to his staff and continue to adjust his rotations faster to match what the opponent puts on the floor. Unless we fall flat on our faces Purdue will be one of the 64 and each one of those 64 has to win the same number of games to advance.

Regarding playing time, if a player is unhappy with his pine time, show more in practice, learn while gathering splinters and show what you got on the court when you get in, if not run away from you challenge...IMO!

You don’t no what you talking about I no what’s going on so before you go rushing to judgments you need to be in those practices sir than you judge.

Don't take this wrong, I have much compassion for your bout with Cancer, have been there twice myself- BUT if that's the case, then for goodness sake Sir, don't waste life complaining about 18-22 year olds who don't always perform the way we all might like. I spend my time here because I love all things Purdue and the game of basketball... It's a positive thing in my life and has been since childhood. If it's no longer that for you then please find something that you do love to throw your passion into....The two of us should truly understand life is too short to spend it being miserable because young men don't perform as we want. I am sure no one is more disappointed in their performance than they are- well other than maybe their coaches. I wish you good health and a joy for all our upcoming celebrations of love and life.

Speaking of defense... give our Boilermakers some credit there tonight too....While Arizona will fall like a lead balloon in the polls Monday they didn't get ranked #2 in the polls because they are horrible at both offense AND defense. It just doesn't work that way. We impacted their play big time on both ends of the floor tonight so give our guys some credit.

Agree but I read a whole bunch of posts quitting on this team yesterday - all I’m saying is how about we give this team a chance - they have the talent

I don’t think being critical of your team after a couple of lousy performances means we have given up....far from it.

There is teams over ranked every year Arizona is one of them. This Arizona team there's definitely something going on with this team maybe they're not playing up to their capabilities because of this investigation going on. They're definitely not playing as a team. Arizona definitely don't look like the Arizona we're used to that team look like South Arizona State not Arizona.

No, it absolutely does't. But HOW one expresses that disappointment is the issue. Every Purdue fan had to be disappointed with those first two games for many reasons-it was impossible not to be. And most of us expressed that disappointment. But there is a big difference in how many fair weather fans expressed their disappointment as opposed to those who, disappointed or not, were still ready to support these young men for their next game regardless....ever faithful, ever true.

What are you talking about? Bench players always want more playing time, been one, coached hundreds in HS over my 40 year career so I just might know a thing or two about how to see playing time. Guess I struck a nerve if you are one or have one not seeing PT.
