Volleyball Earns Hosting Spot

My initial thought is that Purdue was underseeded at #4. This is a top-10 team that has no losses outside of the top-12. But, the RPI has been less bullish on Purdue than the coaches poll.

Seems as though not getting any wins vs top 10 teams dropped their seed and conversely, helped others.

Got screwed again. AS did the BIG. Only one of Nebraska and Wisconsin can make the title game. What good is it to play in the best volleyball league in the country if beating up each other causes more harm than good for seeding purposes.

The SEC and ACC get just as many teams in the field (9) as the Big Ten. Really?

Who else from the B1G would you have put in? Every B1G team in the RPI top-45 made it. The next best teams were OSU (#82), Indiana (#86), and MSU (#99).

The bottom third of the B1G was pretty thin.

Nobody else from the Big Ten was near the bubble and that’s how it should’ve been. Washington was the closest team to be left out followed by Illinois. Both will have a good shot at moving to the round of 32 if they play well.

Purdue has a great draw and arguably got their ideal pick of #1 seeds to potentially play down the line.

Potentially playing Louisville is the best case scenario for this team. I can pretty easily seeing this team "upset" the Cardinals. It's not about the seeds it's about the potential match ups and Purdue got a great draw.

Correct, 9 was the only better scenario really, either way they’d have to likely beat Louisville anyway.

Agreed, 9 would have been a little better I guess, if the 1 seeds there’s no doubt Louisville is probably the weakest.

Another possible break for the Boilers as Loyola Chicago upset 5th seeded BYU in the first round in a 3-0 sweep! The winner of Purdue/WMU plays the red-hot Ramblers who qualified for the tournament after sweeping a very good Dayton team in the A-10 championship.
The Ramblers, huh? I wonder if Sister Jean is on the case. The Boilers could be powerless against that.

Listening to the radio call - this play-by-play guy is a tough listen. Multiple Anticipatory calls that are incorrect, then has to correct himself, mispronounces Allie Hornung’s last name, repetitive generic calls describing the plays, etc. I think he gets overexcited and stumbles over his words. Hard listen.

The color guy is good. Wish he’d take over.

She’s 104 or maybe 105, she occasionally is still at hoops games, well, at least she was last year, not sure about this season.

WMU battled Purdue despite the 3-0 sweep, each match was 2-3 points, very competitive.

I don't know, she might be looking for a new hobby. The men's basketball team apparently left her hanging at the end of a recent home win.

Great that she’s still going, probably for the best that a bunch of sweaty/germed up players didn’t touch her. At least acknowledge the poor women though lol. 105 and she’s still getting after it, that’s great!
