Anyone still thinking Nova loss was just because we can't win the big game? That's a better team than we are and team that's capable of repeating. We played a damn good game that day and felt that way day of the game. Butler, Duke, NC going down, take care of business one game at a time.
Seeing good things for the Boilers next couple of weeks. Win and things will take care of themselves.

Hart and Brunson were clutch for most of the second half...then there's always Jenkins. They know what works and how to execute down the stretch....impressive in a hostile environment with the game close. @ Butler is coming up....should be interesting, but regardless, Villanova is going to be a tough out all year IMO.

I thought the game was to early in the year for us. I think we could beat them if we played them now. We somehow found ourselves at half time of the ND game & have been a different team since.

Nova looked good today on the road against a good team. Yet they almost lost to DePaul earlier in the weak. Haven't seen any team that is head and shoulders above us.

Purdue hasn't been challenged since ND and the Irish look like a top 15-20 but not an elite team. I agree that Purdue can beat anybody but we won't learn anything new about this team until Michigan State IMO.

Going to learn a lot about this team really soon. First off going into Columbus will be a huge test as that place is chamber of horrors. Playing Wisconsin next weekend might tell us a little bit about our team as well.

You are probably right. I'm blinded by the anger caused by people still saying Wisconsin is a runaway favorite for the Big Ten title now so I just think Purdue will roll. I haven't seen Ohio State at all but that team doesn't have anything great on it's resume. I guess I saw some potential in Michigan State that I wasn't expecting and got more interested in that game.

I think CMP-coached teams have only won once in Columbus (2010); that's been the "Haunted House" (or Chamber of Torment/Horrors as you put it) going back to Gene Keady's last few years. That would be a good test and sign if the Boilers can come out of there with a victory.

@ OSU is not easy

Losses by Duke and N. Carolina and Nova's close win against DePaul are all illustrations of how tough conference games, particularly on the road are. And that's just this week. A defense like Iowa used against us along with an off shooting night by our guards and we can easily be challenged and lose to OSU, Wisky, evev Minnie tomorrow.

Not sure, Purdue hasn't won any big game yet this year, and had habit to collapse in important game.

Not sold on Villanova being some juggernaut. They've won when they've needed to so far. I think we still should've beaten them on our homecourt but I don't take too much away from that game. Both teams will change over the season and the officials in that game called it in a way in which a tournament game would never be officiated.

Notre Dame was a big game, icy. Are you constantly as pessimistic in your personal life as you are when you post on here? I've seen you post on and off here for 6 and a half years and I don't think I've read a single positive statement about the program in any of your posts.

Yeah I get it about Wisky and tired of hearing about them also. Not really happy last year we pounded them(especially last game of year when they were playing extremely well) and we didn't get much pub on the victory. They have had a great run in tourney so I get it. Hope we take care of business next couple of games and really looking forward to them coming into Mackey. Have to admit also not too disappointed we don't see them in Kohl center.

I believe in results, which means when Purdue goes to final 4, I will start changing my perception about the team. Notre Dame ranked lower than us. Let beat somebody more significant, then I will have more confident in the team. In short, when are we going to be in final 4?

Tomorrow. We'll know more tomorrow.

It's not an easy thing to do, so I wouldn't base your perception of the program solely on whether they reach a National Semifinal game or not. I hope it's this year or next but we all know that it's a challenge to accomplish.
