Video: Aidan O'Connell after camp practice No. 2

I have listened to the others and feel that AOC has the better demeanor to play our QB position. He seems more calm and aware of the things that must be done for the offense to succeed. Another take I have pulled from these interviews is that Brohm's QB approach is too complicated for almost all of these guys. Blough was able to get it during the years he played, but it has been hard for the players we have now. I hear them talk about attention to the details and It almost sounds too hard for them. These are not dumb players and I believe should be given a better chance to be productive. Coach Brohm had his shot at the pro players and didn't last very long. And I think the pro QB's are the smartest on the planet.

I think you're over-complicating things. You don't have to be a genius to play QB. You just need to be a good QB, which means: read a defense, know what the D is trying to do (or make you do), know where your receivers are supposed to be, know where your outlet is, be able to move DBs with your eyes or head, make the right decision and put the ball where it needs to be.

There is something to be said about demeanor, being cool under pressure, processing the mental aspects of the position. I think Aidan was a half-step ahead of Jack in that department last year. If he could improve his mobility even by 10% I think he is probably the guy.

I would like to see some packages to get Burton involved in the red zone and on 3rd/4th and short. I don't think our offense is going to be very effective once again in these situations without a significant push from the OL. Burton could provide some speed to the edge for bootlegs, roll-outs, etc.
