USC added a walk-on.

I thought walk ons was going to go away??
They are in the traditional sense of adding players who aren't on scholarship to your roster.

But there will be plenty of teams who can't or won't recruit 15 scholarship players so that leaves room for walk-ons to fill those last few of the 15 scholarship slots.

Sounds like it's still in flux with the House ruling. Schools also have to opt-in, but if they don't, they won't get the 20.5 million to spend on players.

"Walk-ons have traditionally been a substantial part of college football rosters, often comprising 20–40% of the team. The new roster cap could significantly reduce opportunities for these athletes, as schools may prioritize scholarship players within the limited spots."

Same thing for basketball obviously just with different numbers.
