Time difference, Vicenza, Italy vs NY, USA (-6hrs):

Where is Vicenza, Italy?

Better double check timing if you plan to watch a live game. I assume the itinerary is listed in EST. Maybe double check the FB & twitter pages for exact times on gameday.

Looks like they meetup in NY on Mon 7/30 at noon, practice & go on tours for a couple of days. Then, they go to the airport on Wed 8/1 at 4pm to fly to Vicenza, Italy.

1st game: Fri Aug 3rd, USA vs Germany at 6pm per itinerary.
2nd game: Sat Aug 4th, USA vs Italy at 8pm per itinerary.
3rd game: Sun Aug 5th, USA vs Netherlands at 6pm per itinerary.
4th game: Mon Aug 6th, USA vs Vicenza Select Italy at 8pm per itinerary.

The 2nd game is the same day as Purdue's Alumni game at Mackey, Aug 4th.

Leave for home Wed morning of the 8th.

Good luck, guys!
Thanks for putting this all together. Great experience for these guys. MP’s reward for taking the red shirt. It also tells me he thinks highly of both.

Looks like the game started at ~ 12pm NY time, which is 6pm Italy time. The stream keeps buffering on me. I'm giving up on it for now. Hopefully, they will have a replay. Replay shouldn't buffer as much as live stream. Middle 4th qtr and Germany is eating USA's lunch 70-53. Don't quote me on this, but Sat's game is probably 2pmEST/8pm Italy. About 160 people are viewing the stream. Germany has probably played together as a team for awhile. USA about 4 days. Buffering has stopped, so I guess I'll watch the end. There aren't any announcers. Camera up high in the bleachers, but you can read the #'s. Sasha switched from #5 to #13.

At 9:15 of 1st qtr, Aaron fell to the floor. That was scary. He stole ball and was blocked on a dunk attempt. Thud! Wow, Sasha took a couple of nasty spills in the 1st. The floor must be wet. Players keep going to the floor.

USA is making a run 72 Ger/ 63 USA w/ 3min left.

Final: 77Gr/67USA

USA East Coast twitter & facebook pages posted the boxscore.
#10 Aaron Wheeler - 16Min, 7Pts, 4Rebs, 1Ast, 2Stls, Blk
#13 Sasha Stefanovic - 12Min, 1Pt, 2Stls

I see a replay, in 3prts. Go to Italbasket youtube page, then videos, prt1 is 15 min intros, prt2 is 1hr the beginning, & prt3 is 37min ending. I see Aaron started.

Thank you for the links ! I would have missed it live . IMO Aaron is going to play the 2 and 3 for us if Carsen actually comes out of the game . I'm not worried about the outside shot from either of our players there was no flow to game and that effects a shooter more than anything else . Aaron is going to be special for us and beyond . Loved his hustle and ball handling .

Wheeler will never play the 2. He's a 4 right now who might play some 3.

Love seeing him put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Hope the outside shot falls, but having multiple guys in Carsen, Nojel, and hopefully Wheeler be able to put pressure on D off the dribble will help offense a ton next year.

I was watching until the video cut out around the 37 minute mark.

Based on what I have seen in these two games, I think defense might be an issue with Sasha and Wheeler. Obviously a very small sample size, but the fundamentals and effort dont seem to be there on that side of the ball. Wheeler specifically got caught watching the ball a lot during these two games.

Sasha, 0-6 from 3pt & 0-7 overall. That was brutal. Clank! Had to stop the game for 10min to replace the bent rim.

Based on these games, Wheeler is in an 8-man rotation and Stefanovic is not. Hopefully Sasha isn't a waste of a scholarship offer and acceptance.

Hopefully "fans" stop throwing away a young man's future as a Boiler based on a couple of grainy videos from an international competition in Italy.

He didn't shoot well in the Indiana All Star games or in the exhibition games this past season, either. So it's more than just these games in Italy. I don't like when Painter reaches with an offer (ex: Grant Weatherford) and so far, Stefanovic looks the part of another reach.

Have to agree about the D. Wheeler got beat off the dribble 2-3 times first game. Always hunched over during a break. Probably habit, but it appears as being winded. Threw up 2-3 prayers in the two games. Had some clankers too!

Stefanovic is about 3 steps too slow. Weak ball handler.

Hey guys, just to clarify that the italian team is the "experimental" national team, basically a team of players 25 yo or younger that are being evaluated to see if they can have a future in the real NT. The important thing though is that they are all pros already, so they know how to "become a team" quickly because that's what they do every summer (professional teams change 80-90% percent of their roster every year nowadays).

Folks - it is a summer international competition. WHO. THE. HELL. CARES.

I take Nag’s commentary about players with a grain of salt - remember his fatuation with Mark Alstork? That dude was a bum. Grady was a more reliable player but don’t tell Nag that because he cuddled nightly with his cookies hoping and praying that Alstork would change his mind and come to Purdue

M51 has similar commentary about SS, so it's not just me. Also, Alstork was/is better than Eifert.

This is why im not a huge fan of red shirts. We shouldn't even be recruiting players that aren't ready to contribute. And it keeps the lesser players around for an extra year when the scholarship potentially could have went to a superior player. Obviously it's still early and his time here is far from being decided. But those stats are concerning and i personally will not be expecting much from Sasha this year.

Exactly, it takes away from superior players that could instead be donning the Old Gold & Black.

He has yet to play one meaningful minute for Purdue and you're already pining for "superior players"? SMH
