It gets old and boring seeing our toothless neighbors from the south making up numbers or statistics about how their Loosier’s are better as a university than Purdue. Not only are we ranked significantly higher and have a higher quality education, But our endowment sits at $2.3 billion and thiers sits at $1.1 billion. While both of those are very phenomenal numbers, last time I checked Indiana university was supposed to be superior in banking, finance and accounting.

I guess our engineers, scientist astronauts and farmers once again prove that if you don’t shut up we’re gonna turn around and buy your campus and use that for our waste treatment facility. Remember all the sh%t in Indiana has been rolling downhill for years so it won’t take much of a change to turn the rest of Bloomington and into a waste treatment plant

Gotta be honest, I expected it to be another "gay" post...
No way, Boilermaker’s don't think that way, the reason our endowment is
Yeah, it seems like every other thread on both boards is like that now.
leave that to the guy who keeps posting that nonsense because he is trying to stay ‘in the closet’. Unfortunately I have met MANY gay men who were JUST LIKE THOSE GUYS before they ended up being caught by their wives, kids, friend, hidden cameras, etc hooking up with someone from the same sex. I support equality to be clear, but I have seen these guys’ and their unfortunate fate get met way too much. If you are comfortable being straight you don’t have to hate. If not, you go ‘over the top’ with anti-gay remarks so everyone says ‘hey, that guy is OBVIOUSLY not gay’...burp, wrong

If I'm not mistaken, Purdue was ranked #61 in 2018. This is a noteworthy move to #56 (now tied with Ohio State and just ahead of Penn State by the way).

To make this a more credible thread, I'm going to retype the top 25 public schools:

1. UCLA
2. Cal
3. Virginia
4. Michigan
5. UC SB
6. UNC
7. UC Irvine
8. GT
9. Florida <--seems way too high
10. William & Mary
11 UC Davis
12 UC SD
13 Georgia <--seems too high
14 Illinois
15 Texas
16 Wisconsin
17 Purdue
18 Ohio State
19 Rutgers
20 Penn St
21 Washington <-- I thought they were considered to be one of the best.
22 Uconn <-- Had no idea they were considered even a decent school.
23 Maryland
24 Clemson
25 Texas A&M

- There are 8 B10 schools on the list.
- There are 6 from the UC system, which is amazing.
- I'd like to see a breakdown of each school's ranking. In other words, how exactly did Florida achieve a higher ranking than Wisconsin/Texas? That goes against most conventional wisdom.

25 years ago UCSB probably would not make the top 50 public institutions. In 1994 they hired Henry Yang as chancellor; he is still chancellor. Henry was a long time Dean of Engineering at Purdue and should have been hired as Purdue president.

I've lived in Florida and Georgia and would agree their ratings seem awfully high. Although Florida has a very high entrance requirement for non-athletes. I lived in California for awhile. I can't believe there are so many California schools included especially UCLA. I can agree with the other big 10 school ratings. I would hope Purdue would eventually equal the ranking of Georgia Tech. At one point in time, we were considered better. It's sad Georgia tech has surpassed us.

I guess a lot of this is all based on the ranking criteria.
