Let’s hope that is the case. That would be the best case scenario for us.Boy that sure makes it sound like the staff is coming with.
Would hope that was part of the negotiations also!Boy that sure makes it sound like the staff is coming with.
What Odom needs to address immediately is the portal, both the Purdue guys who are now in it plus the best gets he can find from other schools. I really, really hate to say it, but Odom needs to work the portal like Jeff Brohm.UNLV had the best recruiting year in their conference this year. Maybe he can bring his staff and his recruits.
Watching the AD at his press conference it sounded like he would prefer to hire a current hc or a Coordinator who had hc experience. He was asked about their current oc and just said hes considering all options.
His scheme doesn’t work here or at any level. Is it possible Walters would come back as the DC? Walters was a great recruiter.
I’m unsure how successful Odom will be in bringing those left back into the fold.
I will say having a .500 record in the SEC is a pretty worthy accomplishment
Well okay. So the success he had at Illinois was more in part to his players rather than his schemes. Those same schemes were a disaster at Purdue. His scheme doesn’t work here or at any level.
People forget that he ran Odoms system at Mizzou and that Bielema wouldn’t let him implement his full system at Illinois.
The only 2 years he was actually in charge of the scheme were a disaster. I’d pass
Agreed. But you do know he was Odom’s DC, right? He might view him as an asset, believe it or not.Keeping a guy who got beat by 34 points or more in half of his games around the program would be the height of stupidity. Get him as far away from here as possible and let Odom do his thing.
Odom might see Walters as an asset in the sense that he's had success in the past and might very well be successful in the future, sure.Agreed. But you do know he was Odom’s DC, right? He might view him as an asset, believe it or not.
I saw that he was and am hoping Odom is wise enough to look elsewhere.Agreed. But you do know he was Odom’s DC, right? He might view him as an asset, believe it or not.
We should all be so lucky for that kind of fresh State. Colorado State has a great campus and wonderful community. Lots of good beer. Fort Collins isn't the cheapest town, but I'm sure Walters and his $9,340,000 can afford it.Odom is not hiring Walters. Let's get that out of our heads right now. I don't even know why this is a topic. Okay, I do know why, but it shouldn't be. I hope Walters gets a nice new job as the CBs coach at Colorado State or somewhere out west.
The current state of the collective needs to be addressed as soon as possible so that good portal players can be acquired!!What Odom needs to address immediately is the portal, both the Purdue guys who are now in it plus the best gets he can find from other schools. Wouldn't that fracture the locker room with any current players who Walters recruited? Pass time for a clean slateIs there any precedent for a fired coach to come back to the team immediately after being fired and to take a coordinator position. Like literally any? I've seen coaches get forced at out as coach and "promoted" to athletics director or whatever. But given how catastrophically bad we were on both sides of the football, why would you keep the guy who orchestrated that and allow him to run one half of what he did badly?
I would hope to some degree this was discussed during the interview process and Odom believed he could work with what was being laid out. Odom is not afraid to get after it for NIL $$$. He rode a bull at UNLV to raise money for their program. The current state of the collective needs to be addressed as soon as possible so that good portal players can be acquired!!

His bio says Oklahoma St OCAnyone else notice that Brennan Marion changed his Twitter profile picture and his Twitter Bio….I bet he’s coming here with Odom!!
He’s an innovator. He doesn’t need to go somewhere with discount store player acquisition funds. His bio says Oklahoma St OC
If you're looking at the same thing I'm looking at, it's a designer company that he must have some piece of.His bio says Oklahoma St OC
Checked out the OK State forum and it sounds like they tracked a flight from LV to Stillwater Monday afternoon. It was supposedly the same plane that flew their new DC in from Louisiana. It could be that he’s just doing his due diligence and interviewing for the position. He’s on the short list for several schools needing an OC so I’ll remain hopeful we have a chance til he puts ink on paper somewhere else.If you're looking at the same thing I'm looking at, it's a designer company that he must have some piece of.
That's Wikipedia, you can't trust that, part of the reason the site has become a bit of a joke. His bio says Oklahoma St OC
Yeah that isn't close to a credible source. "Someone" should go edit it and change it to PurdueThat's Wikipedia, you can't trust that, part of the reason the site has become a bit of a joke.
If you look at the history, someone had at one point, and it got undone.Yeah that isn't close to a credible source. "Someone" should go edit it and change it to Purdue
Ah fair enough. If you look at the history, someone had at one point, and it got undone.
Could have been Cornell ford as OC for all we know. PpChecked out the OK State forum and it sounds like they tracked a flight from LV to Stillwater Monday afternoon.
