One was a McDonald's All-American. One was a guy many said didn't deserve a P5 scholarship.

The McD AA - 1-8 from the floor, 0-2 from the FT line, 2 points, 0 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 TO

The "afterthought" - 5-10 from the floor, 3-6 from three, 2-4 from the FT line, 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 0 TO's

Nice work PJ!!

I can see why Weatherford shirted now.

PJ has that Kramer attitude. Now if he can become a lockdown defender? We are set.

I thought I remembered that name. I knew they had some top level talent in the past but I didn't know where the chips fell with the Donovan departure.
With respect to PJ, Painter is nailing it with these recruits. He still struggles to get the top level talent consistently, but he has really got some hard working guys that fit the system. I mean even the near misses were good. Remember Caris LeVert, unknown nobody from Ohio? I was so mad when we offered him a scholarship but look at him now. I think Painter has it figured out. If we start to become a destination for high level talent, it will be a good ride!

Great for PJ...great for his confidence. Imagine hearing people talking about how the PG spot would hold Purdue back. Imagine knowing most were saying we need a 5th year PG since he (you PJ) isn't ready. Imagine working your butt off in the gym..paying the price and a newcomer gets the nod. PJ had a reason to have a lot of drive and tonight was his night. He will have some struggles, but so far is playing more like early preseason last year as far as his shooting. This should make him feel his worth and draw the team even closer. What a line...he was at that magic level...
