UNC loses to 10-11 Ga Tech

Brutal. But yeah, we're not alone in struggling on the road in conference.

I used to work at Georgia Tech, so I hope the can turn that program around.

Just like at least the part of the Duke-Virginia Tech game that I watched last night, the ACC refs were letting a lot of stuff go in the paint tonight. Tons of contact.

Georgia Tech will get better with Stoudamire. They have a nice collection of wins this year along with all those losses.

I don't know how a foul wasn't called on that RJ Davis drive

I loved the no call lol
ESPN analyst literally just said the same thing I did, good no call. There was a little contact forced by RJ, RJ faded back and acted like he got hammered, in that situation I’m glad it wasn’t called. NC usually gets calls like that, glad in this case they didn’t.

I like that Purdue has a little more separation between them and UNC after this game. I’ve been thinking that the most likely way that Purdue doesn’t hold on to the Detroit #1 is if UConn and UNC both overtake them. A second possibility is that Tennessee beats them out, but Tennessee lost as well. I feel like Purdue has some margin to work with right now. Nothing is guaranteed and Purdue needs to keep winning, but they are in a great spot.

Now, time to hold serve and beat Boo and that scrappy NW team.

Definitely an interesting week of games for Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Ramifications for all. With MSU winning and being the darlings of the Tournament Committee, the Wildcats and Huskers need to win one game this week.

Struggling on the road in your conference is pretty typical, even for ranked teams. When we went to the final four in 1980, our Big Ten road record was 3-6. The year before that Mich. St. had a dominating run to the National Championship, winning every tournament game by double digits. Their Big Ten road record was 4-5. We are 4-2 right now. I would not call that struggling.

it's not normally this bad though. Not sure what it means but I hope it means there aren't any truly elite teams out there and Purdue, while flawed, has a better chance than most seasons to win it's first ever title.

covid players
Well...slight correction.

We are seeing the effects of extra Covid players and the NIL combined. There has never been a time in history where so many great players are still playing college bball all at once. Not sure how this will pan out after the extra Covid year expires, but things probably won't ever return to "normal" due to NIL.
