I saw he seems to have been passed by a freshman there but had a good season a couple years ago. Has some carries too.
Perhaps he could come right in a fill the roll left void by Anthrop. Split time in the backfield and slot with some jet sweeps mixed in there. Could be a weapon.

I don’t think he’s a slot guy. Remember those roles are very specific ..
Also, if I was him I wouldn’t come here. If he wasn’t making big plays and playing big minutes at Iowa he won’t here..
I just don't think he quite fits in with the Iowa offensive scheme. He's not a pounding RB that Iowa likes or a big outside receiver. Iowa doesn't use a slot receiver much. If they line up anyone in the slot it is a TE. I really don't think Ferentz knows how to use someone like this guy.

ive never watched Tracy and thought “he’s more athletic per pound” than those guys.
this is like Anderson to me
tracy is an outside receiver who probably never could get reps if competing with Wright, yaseen, rice etc. but maybe he could come in and make it there IF rice and Yaseen are still hurt and somehow someway brohm can’t parlay bell and Wright showcasing their ability into a big time transfer.
tracy will likely go the route of a manny Rogumba … which is great IMO

Ok BC if you say so. Hey I like alot of your takes, but this one is a bit of stretch. Have you watched him enough to say how it will all play out? I haven't so I can't say anything for certain, but just because he weighs 10 pounds more than Anthrop so he cannot do some of the things Anthrop was doing is an odd take. Again, I haven't seen much of this guy (only a few highlights) but he certainly seems to be faster and quicker than Anthrop. With his RB experience, I could see him lining up in the backfield and running routes from there as Anthrop did the last half of this year. I can also see where he never sees the field, but if Brohm is offering, he must have a plan for him.
Enough to know he’s a good solid player.. who just isn’t a slot receiver.. not cause of anything about him, but because it takes exceptional exceptional athletes at his size to play the slot, which is all about using high level quickness to win matchups in space.
put it this way.. if it was 2017 and we had a chance to add tracy that year over Gregory Phillips outside, it would have been a no brainer. He’s a solid player .. but our receiver room has outgrown him and I think he has better opportunities to play elsewhere if that makes sense
I have no idea. I assumed slot because he is listed at like 5’11” on ESPN which typically is not an outside wr. I also thought I read that he was wr or rb out of HS which made me think more shifty.
Lot of guys like that, like Anderson, are just short outside receivers … but if the coaches are etc to think I’m wrong then I’m down with that

He runs well in the open field with the ball and has nice moves .. I didn’t see him working defenders to get the ball at a level that says slot. I didn’t see “quicker than sheffield”.. but maybe I’ll be proven wrong
We recruited him in high school. We were his second choice behind Iowa, a syndrome that we often see with Chicagoland/Indpls recruits. His transfer may be a combination of homesickness and the realization that Purdue's running offense is putrid while the passing offense uses a heck of a lot of receivers.
Don’t be surprised if our rush offense is near the midpoint of the league next year. The line will be much more experienced in terms of fewer players lacking maturity at the position, James will be added, Doerue is much more polished and downing looked lightning fast by the end compared to early on.
If we don't have the attrition of upper class OL because of retirement from football, the line should be greatly improved. There was noticeable improvement as the season wore on.

I say take a chance on him. I don’t think there’s anyone from this year’s freshmen or incoming class that are going to be getting much, if any PT. With injuries and such we could use the depth. We have Wright, Sheffield, Thompson, the often injured Rice and some unproven guys like Yaseen, Sullivan, Taylor, Terell,etc. If Rice is healthy he can be really good. Wright is a stud, Thompson is alright and Sheffield can be good. Hopefully the underclassmen like Yaseen and Sullivan can be as good I was thinking they could be. I think Tracy would fit in fine with this group
I was more thinking if he was given an honest idea on where he’d fall in with us.. he’d be good enough to get better opportunities..
Really like what I saw from Sheffield this year. I think it would be very difficult to unseat him as the starter in the slot next year.
I also like Sheff alot, the only thing that can unseat him would be another bad off the field event.
we haven't seen anything from Taylor at this point and probably won't.
Agree. That’s why I think we should bring in all the help we can. We’re not that deep. At least with proven players

Agreed and I don’t think he needs to start in slot to be a weapon. Anthrop at best split with Sheffield and still got plenty of reps by adding in some plays in the backfield and with 4 wrs on the field. Even if he only touches the ball 4-5 times a game you use playmakers!
Tracy and Sheffield inside, Wright and Yaseen outside, Durham flexed out.

Agreed. But don't forget we have Burks who it sounds like is pretty good in his own right. You can never have too much good depth, but our situation at slot doesn't seem all that appealing to someone trying to transfer in imo.
Taylor just goes to school here.. something I bet happens a lot less frequently at schools that regularly win more games
I just threw his name in there. He was still on roster at beginning of season but hasn’t done anything since he’s been here. My main point in listing everyone is that we aren’t quite that deep with proven talent. I hope guys like Sullivan and Yaseen are as good as we were expecting them to be and Rice stays healthy. In the small sample size I’ve seen I do think Rice can be really good
Taylor? I must have missed it or not paid attention. I was meaning actual playing of the receiver position
Underselling it maybe even....Bell would register those numbers in a half against them.
