Whisky is like IU of last year in that they are benefitting from the unbalanced schedule to hold their BIG lead. Yes, they are a good team, but the combination of teams they play seem less challenging than those we play. Maybe the tail end of their schedule will catch up with them.
I can see some similarities in how the standings have gone, Mathboy, although I think Wisconsin is a little more balanced than Indiana last year, who could turn it up a notch offensively. Definitely favorable schedules, but credit both teams for making the most of it.....although Wisconsin has been really living on the edge lately.
Michigan State did end up with the highest NCAA seed from the conference last year, although it didn't help them much.
Interestingly, Lunardi has Wisconsin as a #4 right now (although their ranking would put them closer to a #2). Purdue is trending up, and I think Maryland has the other outside shot at a preferred seed. If things keep going the way they have been, Wisconsin and Purdue could end up with top-four seeds.
This is getting way ahead of ourselves, but how bout a 3/4 seed in the West, playing the first two rounds in Indianapolis for the Boilers?
Of course, over the next month, all of this could change dramatically. We shall see....
