Did you notice our big come back came with AJ and Haas on the bench? Sometimes I think we get tunnel vision and only look to go inside (coaching?). When the centers were out, we had to open the offense and that gives us more options.
I thought Haas had a good game very encouraging for the next 2 years. Appears to be a very coachable kid. Kudos to Brantley, believe he's doing a great job coaching our bigs.
lol aj was on the floor for half the "comeback". Dunno what you were watching. He had 2 blocked shots and a bucket (at least that I can remember) during that run...
I do agree that balance is key to any effective and efficient offense. I also think looking at that comeback as some sort of sustainable offensive model is misguided.
Purdue was down 59-40 with 9:57 left. The comeback was fueled by 7-8 from 3pt in the last 10 minutes of the game. Non-bigs were 0-2 inside the 3pt line over that stretch. It’s not like they were suddenly taking advantage of driving opportunities or a less crowded area inside the arc.
Was the offense really better in the last 10 minutes or did guys just step up & hit shots?
