Just real quickly a couple notes from today's practice. Keep in mind, we don't get Hazell again until after Wednesday's practice, so some of this will need clarification then:

• Couple interesting (significant, potentially) injury notes: WR Domonique Young didn't practice. He had ice on his left knee. Not sure what/when anything happened. Purdue doesn't practice Mondays and Hazell said Monday there weren't any major injuries out of the game. So ... perhaps some kind of precautionary thing. During Tuesday's practice, Myles Norwood appeared to injure his left leg (ankle?) and spent the bulk of it watching. We'll keep an eye on that, obviously. Kirk Barron (ankle and possible shoulder, cuz he had a brace on), Jordan Roos (unknown) and Evan Panfil (shoulder) also were limited, though there's no concern about them not playing Saturday. Probably the toughest dudes on the team. Matt McCann was in street clothes but didn't have his injured right ankle in a boot and worked some in the pit. He seemed like he wasn't moving too badly, but I doubt he plays Saturday, considering Hazell called him "very questionable."

• Martesse Patterson was not at practice.

• Even though Hazell was quick to tell me Monday that there hasn't been consideration of playing Cermin on the left side (cough, benching Neal), that scenario seemed a possibility after watching Tuesday's practice. I think Darrell Funk is trying everything right now — even having Jason King take some left tackle reps during one-on-one work vs. D-linemen — but don't be surprised if Mike Mendez takes some right tackle snaps Saturday. Roos could also play right tackle and Mendez play his right guard spot. We'll see.
