MSU has had our number recently. But this is the first team without Hummel that I feel confident about a win. It will be close and hard-fought.

Yeah, but that was after Magic - in the 80's, wasn't it? I'm young enough that I mostly remember Scott Skiles as playing for the Pacers in MSA. I don't dispute MSU's success since Magic (well, honestly, they weren't all *that* great until Izzo, but I'll give them the Heathcote, era - they did win a title under him with Magic & Co.), I just think they were an also-ran up to that point (maybe I'm wrong).
They've definitely been more consistently good under Izzo than they were under Heathcote (although Izzo was a Heathcote assistant for about 10 years before becoming the HC). Purdue has lost to MSU SEVEN times in a row now. 2/9/16 is the expiration date for that streak.
Not only was the last time we beat them when Etwaun and JJ were on the court, they've embarrassed us in basically all those losses. Painter needs to change that this year. Can't lose 7 in a row to a regional power if we ever want to surpass them. Needs to win at the crossroads this year too.

Wow, not even good smack-talk. Our visitor is a great representative of his fine educational institution. At least MSU now has Nebraska to look down on. You know, Nebraska has an "N" on each end of their football field, which they think stands for Knowledge. Otherwise, they would be the bottom of the BIG academic barrel.

The motto is unoriginal aka MSU is following Purdue's lead on that. You're right, that does seem like a very proactive move by "The Tradition". Caleb Swanigan and company are going to give Sparty a rude awakening in Mackey.

I'm surprised that any MSU fan would lead a discussion on dignity. Get a DUI, get a free trip to Italy? Only available to drunk basketball players.
I have an even better idea. How about an alumni game between iu and msu but the alumni must have some sort of criminal record or law enforcement incident.
