So there are about 27 threads about Appleby and coaching. I will add to the cacophony, but have decided that my point is important enough to have a stand alone topic.
Here is the thing about the QB position and coaching for me...
Eastern Washington went in to Oregon with their RS Jr QB who had never taken a live snap in a game and he was 23/34 for 293 yards, 3 TDs and an int. He gets hurt and they bring in a TRUE Freshman and he is 14/21 for 145 yards, 2 TDs and an int. They put up 41 points in Autzen Stadium agains a top 15 team with 2 inexperienced QBs and a team that most of us would scoff at.
Does EWU just have more talented QBs?
Does EWU have more talented players overall?
Is Marshall's defense better than Oregon's?
Does EWU have better coaching?
This just happens to be the example that I have easily at hand as I watched 2 CFB games (EWU@Oregon and Purdue@Marshall) this weekend.
I will be on the golf course most of the day so feel free to make this topic an all out attack on me, my knowledge (or lack thereof), and my post. Or have a reasonable discussion for once, I don't really care.
Disclaimer - I know this is one game of stats. I know that people react poorly to anything involving Oregon on this board. I know that Bear thinks I am a soccer mom who eats at Panera. I know that some people believe I love Hope so much that a lewd comment involving a sexual act was directed at me last week. I know that kboiler is twice the poster and 3 times the person I am. I know that my intellect is clearly inferior to gr8indoorsman and most inanimate objects. I know that I put on a pretty decent tailgate that people enjoy. I am an American. I wouldn't have been more surprised if I woke up this morning with my head sown to the carpet.
