True or false

False. There is a lot of overreaction on this board right now. We are looking for indications of improvement. We lost to a good team 41-31.
I appreciate your take. But response to CDH's record is simply "reacting" not "overreacting". He is, thus far, historically bad.

Hard to say. I saw enough Sunday to make me think this team can compete, but it still can't complete.
He's down there in Fred Akers territory for sure.

Hazell has won 16% of his games so far, with half of his wins coming against FCS opponents. Akers was at 28.4% and Coletto 30%. Technically, Albert Berg is the worst coach in Purdue history - he coached one game in 1887 and lost. There is also William Henry Deitz, who coached in 1921 and had a 14.3% win percentage. But even he managed to win 20% of his conference games, a percentage that seems awfully good now.

The good news here is that of all the coaches in Purdue's history, Deitz has a win percentage closest to that of Hazell. And, he was followed by James Phelan and Nobel Kizer, who won 60% and 75% of their games, respectively. So, if the current staff continues at the current rate, the next 2 should make us all very happy.

It`s not all about winning and losing, with D.H. it`s how you dress up to walk the sidelines. Who else this past wk.end wore a long sleeve sweater with a vest and it was 90 plus degrees. Style baby, thats all that counts. Bitch all you want but he`s making 2mil.and the a.d. doesn`t have the balls to fire him

I am not sure turtlenecks have been in style (or even sold for that matter) since the 90's.

Good grief, Deitz was the worst! Stubborn as a mule, would not dismiss equipment manager Johannes Schoop for anything - even after the infamous jersey/pants mixup against Chicago.

Reminds me of another "leader" that's in over his head and is all about the show.

Apparently Deitz actually won a Rose Bowl at Washington State before coming to Purdue. He was also successful at Louisiana Tech immediately after Purdue. He just couldn't win here. But that was back in the 1920's. It's much easier to win here now.

He was inducted into the College football hall of fame as a coach in 2012. I can imagine the folks sitting around trying to decide if he should get in. Someone in the room points out he was 1-6 at Purdue and someone else retorts with "no one can win at Purdue - we can't hold that against him." Everyone kind of looks at each other, shrugs, nods and that's that - Deitz is in.
