Travel Question

So I'm arriving in Michigan City tonight, for the weekend and got to thinking about taking the trip down for the game tomorrow if I can snag a ticket off stubhub in the morning. My question is does anyone know how traffic usually is on or around that route? I'd love to make it to a game but my priority this weekend is getting into Chicago and enjoying the playoff festivities so I can't be getting into bad traffic haha. Any info is greatly appreciated.
