Virginia,Cincy and Wisconsin go down today. At least two are ranked closely ahead of Purdue. West Virginia plays at Kansas tomorrow evening.

They have to rise 3, minimum. No way those 3 teams directly ahead of them stay ahead. I guess maybe Virginia because they beat #4 earlier in the week

Wisconsin could fall far but I doubt they'll fall behind Purdue.

They lost at home to an unranked, though good, Northwestern team and a big story this whole weekend has been how the selection committee didn't put Wisconsin in their top 16. The pollsters will have that in the back of their mind when ranking the teams this week.

Same theory with Cincy as well.

Does it even matter. Seems the committee thinks the B1G is crap this year. Left #7 ranked Wisc out of their top 16.

That said, I'd love to see us around 12.

It doesn't matter - as we've learned these AP Rankings are useless. Wisconsin was #7 and not even one of the top 16 seeds. RPI needs to die immediately. Fans like these Rankings but the committee uses whatever the criteria of the year is to seed. We will be 14 or 15 probably. If this is the new way to unveil teams then the committee should Rank the top 25 teams from the time they release the first 16 (whatever weekend that is each year) going forward and get rid of the AP and Coaches Poll after that point in time - much like the college football rankings. That's where we are headed.

I cannot believe that Purdue will not pass Butler, FSU and Cincinnati.

My guess is the NCAAT top 16 preview will have some effect on voters. Wisconsin and Cincinnati will tumble - double whammy of not being in the top 16 and then losing. Other adjustments may be made irrespective of last week's results. Pollsters won't want to be too far out of bed with the committee.
