What ever happened to the TP touchdown tradition?

I was thinking about this during the game, my freshman year our dorm floor stole massive amounts of toilet paper all week long for about 2 weeks from every bathroom on campus, by Saturday morning of the game we must have had 500 rolls of TP that we stuffed in black plastic trash bags.

To get them into Ross-Ade we set up “an operation”—- we had multiple teams of 2 go in and throw long ropes down from from the top of Ross-Ade from the Student section in the North End zone and more groups below tying the ropes to the bags and we hauled them up. I was sure would would get busted by the “eye in the Sky” by the press box but we got them up and quickly dispersed massive amounts of TP into the crowd. By the end of the game the area behind the end zone was a huge mass of stolen unrolled toilet paper blowing everywhere.

This post mentions the little fire.....

LOL, later at the end of the game- someone threw a cigarette butt into that pile of TP and a small fire started- the north end zone was filled with smoke . Ya, we did that.

I’d like to see a TP Revival.

There are padlocks on the TP dispensers in all bathrooms. So no free TP, which killed the tradition.

Thanks for the TP. I remember a snowstorm from the north end zone when Purdue scored.

The reason I thank you is, that I was married and very poor (Ross Ade apartment cost us $63 a month, we had $10 budget per week for food). After the game, I went down on the field and picked up 5 - 10 rolls of TP to use for personal use. Thanks for helping my wife and I to get by!
