• Yes, Caleb Swanigan has told Michigan State that he is backing out of his commitment to them. There were no barriers keeping Swanigan from signing with the Spartans. Any urban legend that might come out about anyone refusing to sign off on that move is bunk. And I don't take use of the word 'bunk' lightly.
The player just changed his mind after weeks of deliberation and discussion with those around him. This didn't just happen. This has been a weekslong deal.
• Matt Painter has not spoken to Swanigan since he committed to MSU, per his personal way of doing things. Now that he's open again, that can happen.
• All signs point to Purdue but this is the most important part here: NOTHING IS DONE YET.
