To all who have served

Today is a day we remember those who died while in service, not those who served. Those of us who have served get upset and insulted by those who don’t know the true meaning of Memorial Day, flag day. Armed forces day and Veterans Day.

Thank you!

Wo, Memorial Day is a day I remember and give thanks to all who have served and given so much. I believe all who faithfully fulfilled their duties deserve the recognition too.

My choice to do so.

Yes, the true meaning isn't those of us still living but no I don't get upset or insulted bc someone gets it wrong.

For me, it's a day to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. And its a day to honor all who served, including the living.

Unless you turned your back on your beliefs and support the most anti-military president in history. Oh and he tried to overthrow the government you fought and died for. But hey, who would notice semantics.

I'll be consistent and say the same thing to you I say to all the right wingers and Trumpers who try to shove politics in here, there's another board for that stuff.

This is absolutely correct- post ALL political bliovations where they belong!

I say this as the son of a WWII P-38 fighter pilot, and the brother of a SAC bomber payload specialist:
THANK YOU to all who served- especially to those who gave their last full measure of devotion!👍🦅

Ross, thank you for your post. I am the son of a man in the 101st in Bastogne and the battle of the bulge. He was wounded twice and returned to duty, was one of 10% of his outfit to return home to live a life devoted to others. I honor him the same as I honor all vets who helped you and me be able to type these messages on an obscure board.

I had the good fortune to visit Belgium where he fought, stood in the same places he stood, and learned so much about Pop from a guide I hired, but also for all the others. And to top the trip off, I was asked by the Luxembourg Cemetery caretaker to help her fold the American flag at the end of the day. What an honor.

That’s awesome!

That generation saved the planet, then without missing a beat, put aside their weapons and went back to their jobs.

When my Dad rotated into the famed 475th Fighter Group, the pilot he replaced was Charles Lindbergh’s wingman — cool stuff😎
