My wife and I often attended the Joe Tiller radio show when it was broadcast at different restaurants in the Lafayette area.
It was always surprising to me that there would only be 30-40 people there.
Questions from radio call-ins were fielded, along with questions from the live audience. I asked a question each week, and eventually they eliminated me from winning "The Most Valuable Question Award" (since I won it about 4 times).
He really liked my wife, as evidenced by his weekly greeting to her. He tolerated me!
One week I asked, "Coach, what is your favorite part of coaching, and then, what is your least favorite part of coaching?"
Tiller, "That’s an easy one. I really enjoy seeing youngsters come in to the program as young and immature players, and then to see them grow and mature, then leave the program as men."
Cool, I thought.
Tiller, "Now as to my least favorite part of coaching, I won’t go into that."

I have other fond memories of coach because of the radio show.
