We're a few plays from being 13-0 and maybe #1. I know, I know, that's a lot of ifs. but still...........

They did have double-digit deficits in both of those losses (Notre Dame is the only other game so far where they had a double-digit deficit) but came back and made those games tight. Maybe one of the team goals for the rest of this season should be to not have anymore double-digit deficits.

I like where we are right now as a team pretty much. We are doing a little better than I expected! I would rather be 12 and 1 than 11 and 2, but not sure I would want to be 13 and 0 and #1 this early in the season. I would rather be a little underrated and flying under the radar at this time of year. I did hate losing to Louisville though! Can't stand Pitino. I just hope we keep playing well and can get a good seed at the end of the year (#3 or better) that can catapult us to some good things in the NCAA tournament.

True but in both losses, we still had a chance at the end. Our two losses aren't against slouches, especially since Louisville just beat KY today. I think the point is that we can compete with anyone and this team has that mentality. Even when we had the Baby Boilers and Duke came to town, you could just see the difference in teams. Let's hope that our 3pt shooting doesn't get cold at the wrong time. Or at least everybody. Would like to see at least one person be consistent each game. If that continues to happen we are very tough team to beat.

agreed

If at least one of the guards can be a consistent double-digit scorer and do it efficiently (I feel like CE is the best bet for that; he will need to adjust quickly to be able to do that though), the team should be in better shape. Mathias and Thompson are close to that, but I feel that Thompson is already getting the absolute most out of his ability and Mathias nearly is as well but has a tendency to shoot worse and score less against the top competition.

Big deal. Doesn't matter where you start but where you finish. We keep playing like this and the high ranking will come and at the end of the year where it will matter most.

If, if, if. Geeeeesh. That is probably the case for nearly all one loss teams. Kansas would be No. 1. Duke, Louisville, others.

Irrelevant. Great thing like article stated on game was that this team has not had a bad loss this season and continues to improve. Georgia St game seems like a lifetime ago. Swanigan getting on teammates during warmups? Nobody does that and love hearing that. Verbal leadership can be overated and he went out and backed it up by his play.
Folks no doubt the guy goes pro next year. He's not coming back. Love that he's playing for us 2 seasons and the guy is having more fun this year. Also attitude I'm playing for $ next year but also get this team as far as possibly can attitude. Early but got to love what your seeing from this club.

I don't really agree with the OP, but lookng forward, consider the B1G this year. Very mediocre so far, with only 3 top 25 teams and no top 10 team. We are going to get a lot of fluff games against bad opponents. Now I know, there are no easy games in conference. But there is no reason for us not to go 16-2 or 15-3 and win the B1G and finish with 4-5 total losses on the year and be in contention for a 1 or 2 seed. The challenge will be how many top 25 or even top 50 RPI type wins we will have, but who knows where teams will finish.

We have an incredible opportunity to be in position for a run in March if we can take care of business in league play, much more so than most years when there is a dominant MSU team or Michigan has an all-American or Wisky is loaded. Let's see what CMP can do.

I think the stories of the B1Gs demise are exaggerated at this point. We will end up with 2-3 teams in the top ten by the end of the year and I suspect 3 teams with seeds of 3 or better.

ya we need to win the conference. Our only game against wisky is at home. Must win. We play iu twice. Should at worst split, but I think we can take both. Other than that, we should pretty much be winning. I'm sure we'll drop a road game here or there like @MD or @Iowa, but this is setting up to be our year.

I expected 2 losses in non conf games against the 2 we lost to. I also had us at 12-6 in conference. But with Biggie playing better than I expected, improvements from PJ (had several assists and no TOs again last night and a few steals), and Dakota, and flashes from Carsen, I'm hopeful we get to 14-4 and at least a 3 seed. Should be a fun ride. Boiler Up!
