I have a great deal of respect for so many that post their views and thoughts on so many topics that are posted on this board.
Was wondering if anyone else was wrapping their head around the fact that T. Fuller was even on the field for special teams play during a contact scrimmage?? I was shocked to learn that the injury was to his jaw compared to all of the other various parts of the body that can be injured in a "Freakish Manner" on the football field.......

I've been thinking about it. Weird, to break it in two places the only thing I can think is he got "mule kicked" incidentally by another player.

He was on special teams all of last year and was particularly good at it.

I don't think there was ever a plan to have a "workhorse" back this year. There was talk prior to injury about Fuller and Horvath splitting time, and phasing in one or both freshmen when they were ready. Also, starters playing special teams is nothing new. Certainly not shocking. Last year off the top of my head I recall seeing Major, Blackmon, Mackey, Barnes, Zico out there. I'm sure there were others.

Sure. But we also had at least 2 RBs ahead of him on the depth chart last year. Little different scenario this season.
Maybe they felt his best NFL chance was to be a returner. If so, no guilt or shame by our coaching staff because freakish things happen. Hope for a full recovery!

Brohm has never been shy about using starters or contributors on special teams. I don't think he liked the typical approach of sending out backups to entirely field important phases of the game.

It's an unfortunate loss, but I don't think it changes our run game all that much.

We dont have the depth of talent to send out anybody but contributors and starters.

I think our WR’s are deep enough to handle returning kicks and so would our DB’s on kickoffs, both certainly much deeper than our RB’s, imo!
