So that he can tell Zo, face to face, that he too want's to be a Boiler.

Just like his adoptive Dad and just like him.

Also, when there's bad news to be delivered, honorable people do it themselves and they do it in person... A future Boiler paying respect to one of the all time great Boilers... At least that's how I see it playing out in my rose-colored world!
