I'm mildly familiar of the water treatment issue and I agree that it's not a good thing. I don't know if there was neglect or if they even knew the issue could be a problem or not.
The Texas issue was also their fault, but a lot of it is due to the fact that freezing temps are not normal down there.
The California issue is/was 100% foreseeable and self imposed. That's the biggest difference if there is one here. The other two took disasters of nature to make the problem come to head. California just did it to themselves.
So record temperatures in SoCal are self imposed but grid failure due to freezing is OK. Got it!

Since your looking things up look up the mayor and city council of Jackson and Flint since the city water utility falls under their purview and not that of the governor. It's the duty of local officials to take care of their constituents. I'll save you the time. They're Democrats.
Imagine if the MS governor had set a goal to rid MS of all bottled water by 2035 in support of the climate change agenda (because shipping bottled water is dumb). And then had this weather system causing it to rain and essentially forcing Mississippians to be reliant on bottled for a few weeks.
IMO, that would be the Mississippi version of the California electric grid capacity outage.
(Maybe Newsom can convince MS to bottle some of that water and ship it to CA.)

That's not what I said at all. I said they f'ed up because they didn't account for what would happen if they had freezing temps. If they didn't get freezing temps, the issue wouldn't have happened though. It's just not something people typically think of in Texas because it almost never happens. Most homes have pluming above the freeze line because it's just not a thing typically in Texas.
