Went to open practice today. #15 Kory Taylor, Looked eerily like #89 Kyle Ingraham back in the day! Not only does he resemble a Stork with a helmet on, he had 3 sweet catches. 2 went for touchdowns and 1 he made a spectacular one handed sideline grab with Dedrick Mackey draped on his back!

In person he doesn't seem that fast, but he was consistently a step ahead of the corners, so he must be deceptively fast
Anyways, I hope he has a productive season and career! BOILER UP!!!!

Or we recruited corners with size in mind not speed..

I have a theory that tall people don’t look as fast as their shorter counterparts. May be because their legs don’t take as many steps, but still cover more ground.

He ran a 4.48 40 so he's fast

reminds me of the Giesicki kid psu had a couple yrs back and he did well.

I'm certain matchups, I would prefer size/length/technique to speed. It doesn't matter how fast you are if you can't turn your hips, you'll get beaten off the break every time. If you can't play the ball, the 6'3 WR will just snag it over you or you'll get called for a PI.

But against a 6-5 receiver with a 4.48 forty?

That's what I call a match up nightmare.

Honestly that’s not a fair comparison - the stork wasn’t very good

Is that time verified on Taylor

I would disagree on this. He had almost 1,300 receiving yards and averaged around 12 yards a reception in his first three years with us. I remember there being talk on him being a pro prospect at one time. His best year was his sophomore year in 2004 when he had 624 receiving and 7 TDs, because he had Orton as his QB. 2005 was a year most of us would like to forget, because that team underachieved so badly with all the talent (guys that ending up playing NFL) they had on that team and infamously being ranked #1 preseason in the country by the Orlando Sentinel.

He was a red zone nightmare in red zone situations, because they could just throw the ball up in the end zone and his height and length could not be stopped. Of course, his career was cut short due to academics, but he was very athletic and moved well for his size from what I remember seeing him on tv and at Ross Ade.
Okay I’ll admit I was wrong - honestly I don’t remember him catching that many balls.

On the 2005 team- believe we drafted 9 guys after that season. Lost something like 6
Games in a row. I went to the AZ game early in the yr and left think they were very under-rated. Turns out our boys were highly over-rated. IIRC there were some bad locker room/chemistry issues that yr

Woulda...coulda...shoulda...we'll never know. Ingraham was 6'9" tall and a match up nightmare for some 3rd down possessions and red zone TD'd IIRC in his last season. Problem was his Sophomore year was his last season because in 2006 he was ruled academic ineligible. Year prior he caught a lot of balls and was doing well.

His last year was 2005 his junior year. His sophomore year, 2004, was his best year, 7 TDs, but he had Orton throwing to him not Kirsch in 2005.

Yes Ingraham ran a lot of fades in the endzone. And caught several td' s in 04. As for Taylor, I was glad to see his performance yesterday, as he has potential to add quality depth at WR. Or in the event that the freshmen don't live up to high expectations, he may end up starting at the X position.

No idea. It's just on his hudl tape.

But he does have a verified PR 10.95 100m outdoors. Considering Marcellus runs a 10.31 100m and has a 4.35 40, Taylor's 4.48 is rational.

But let's not quibble over decimals. Dude is fast.

I would like to see him do well. Right out of the gate would be even better
