I realize he's going to be playing on Sundays next year, but I like to project another season of stats to put his career in perspective.
His numbers are gaudy any way you slice them, but especially since he's only played 26 career games. That's about half a career for most guys on this list.

CAREER RECEPTIONS
1. T. Stubbelfield - 325
2. D. Bryant - 292
3. J. Standeford - 266
4. T. Stratton - 204
5. D. Bell - 203
5. G. Orton - 203
Bell will certainly end up 4th in Purdue history after this season.
His career average of 7 catches/game for the next 17 games (3+1 this year, 12+1 next year) would put him at 322. That would also be 2nd in B10 history, as the top three in B10 history are all Purdue guys.

CAREER RECEIVING YARDS
1. J. Standeford - 3,788
2. T. Stubbelfield - 3,629
3. D. Bryant - 3,548
4. B. Alford - 3,029
5. D. Bell - 2,663
Bell will likely move into 4th place by the end of this year.
He is averaging 102 ypg for his career. Projecting out the next 17 games, he will end up with an absurd 4,404 career yards. That would obliterate both B10 and Purdue record books (which are identical in the top 3 spots)

CAREER RECEIVING TDS
1. B. Alford - 31
2. D. Young - 27
2. J. Standeford - 27
4. V. Sutherland - 25
5. T. Stubblefield - 21
5. D. Bryant - 21
7. D. Bell - 20
7. D. Yancey - 20
Touchdowns are finicky to predict, but it's likely he'll end this season in sole possession of 5th place in Purdue record books.

SEASON RECEIVING YARDS
Bell currently has 1,003 yards in 8 games, which is 125 ypg.
To become the Purdue season record holder, he needs to average 76 ypg.
To become the Big Ten season record holder, he needs to average 136 ypg.
If he gets his current average, he'll end up 2nd in B10 history.

SEASON RECEPTIONS
Bell currently has 64 receptions in 8 games, which is 8 catches per game.
He's on pace to get to 4th in the Purdue record books. It's very unlikely he'd move higher than 3rd.
He's on pace to get to 7th in the Big Ten record books. (3 of the top 4 are Purdue guys)

GAME YARDS
1. C. Daniels - 301 (MSU 99)
2. D. Bell - 240 (Iowa 21)
3. S. Lymon - 238 (ND 06)
4. R. Moore - 220 (Vand 19)
5. D. Bell - 217 (MSU 21)

All in 2.5 years wow

We have not been to a bowl the last 2 years, and he also missed the Minnesota game due to concussion protocol. This would have also helped add to his career stats too.

I can’t wait to see how smart the NFL guys are with respect to David next spring. Ain’t no way there are 2 or 3 other better NFL receivers in this draft. Don’t care what his combine numbers are.

I'm just glad he didn't injured on that pass and run down the Purdue sideline where he stopped and his feet abruptly came out because he slid or the turf gave out.
