Transcribing Greg Hudson for our magazine (and the site likely tomorrow) but wanted to pull this out on the starting defensive ends, since there's been some debate here, particularly about Gelen Robinson.
“I think they’ve got to take coaching a little better," Hudson said. "I think (Evan) Panfil is a guy who we love, he does everything you ask until about two seconds into the play, then there’s a little breakdown. He’s got to stay within himself and become a little more productive. Execute the defense exactly like we want it. But he has great effort and a great motor, but we’ve just really got to clean him up and coach him better.
“Gelen has got to play football every day. Every single day, it’s football. He’s got to get ready to be a full-time football player and develop.
This is a position to watch headed into the fall. Purdue needs to be better.
