And Brohm called a good game yesterday. Hope I’m not too optimistic but yesterday’s game could be a breakout game for this program. With that being said if we lose to Wisconsin it will just be another Spoilermaker victory we are prone to do

I think the MVP of the Iowa game has to be O and D lines. The really dominated Iowa and enabled others to step up and do their part.

On the flip side, Bobby Debacle= worst coach ever.

Iowa fan here, your lines were the best we have faced all yr. our D had zero pressure and even when we blitzed, we could not get thru. #5 was maybe the most disruptive player i ever remember playing at kinnick.
have you guys been healthy all yr on the lines? Best of luck the rest of the way.

Our offensive line has been hit with the injury bug and isn't very deep at the moment. Having an extra week to prepare and heal no doubt was a positive impact for us.

Iowa is still a very talented team and I expect to see you all climb back up the polls.

No doubt. The defensive staff overhaul was a much needed and obvious change. It is fun to watch and a relief to not have to score over 30 to win.

We also just snagged Big ten defensive (cam Allen) AND offensive (Bell) players of the week. Does that happen very often where they're both from the same school? Impressive.

I like that, but also look who wasn't playing that weekend.

with their weak schedule I think that the pollsters will be less likely to give them much traction to climb.... We will see?

Fair point. But we've seen teams like O$U accomplish the same thing after a loss so who knows.

I think it would be tough to beat what David did Saturday (total yardage was more that all of Iowa's offense?). And am I right that Allen had 3 picks, or was it just two? Heart says George should have gotten it, stats say Allen and again, a tough performance to top. And again, right or wrong, against the then #2 team in the nation. On their homecoming. Against the touted best defense in the nation. During a storm, In the middle of the Apocalypse. With dogs and cats living together. I may embellish, but you get the picture.

I'm laughing. While I agree he is at or near the top, Gary Nord "2 yards and a cloud of dust " and Darrell "Haze" would be in a throw down for top spot.
It does show that coaches can impact players positively and negatively.

With more head coaching experience, Brohm may have found a way to engage players and keep their interests during the season. For talking points, look no further than 3 QBs used in the last game + early Purdue days publicly b_tching out his QBs on turnovers. He took some fatherly advise to "coach" the QBs if you don't like their results.

Too early to tell, but we might be turning the corner with a seasoned coach.

Cam Allen had two interceptions - Douglas and Mackey had the other two.

I was impressed with every phase of the boiler game … except … open field tackling by special teams. Other than that all other phases were really good … IMHO.
